I will continue to work..."
Hello Sharon -- Sorry for the late reply -- I have enjoyed it completely, the action and characters are compelling enough to keep me interested and also to speculate on their futures (pending the all survive) within this series of books.
I will definitely work my way through the other books in the Event Group series.

Curmudgeon -- I completely agree with you while it definitely isn't a perfect book it was none the less entertaining -- maybe since it was a first in the series my main concern was the introduction of so many characters and factions in such a short time -- but I'm hoping those that warrant another chance and survive might be expanded upon on future adventures.

I loved the first Nina Wilde & Eddie Chase book and have been meaning to read the rest in the series, but keep getting sidetracked. Good to know that you enjoyed the series. Thanks for reminding me of them...need to move them up my TBR pile.
Sigma Force series is one of my favorites too!

And speaking of Sigma Force...anyone up for a buddy read of the latest in the series Bloodline LP: A Sigma Force Novel
coming out in June?

Sounds good...I think it comes out at the end of June doesn't it?

I love the Ryme of the Ancien Mariner... very cool poem-story. Spiritual..."all things great and small" and stuff.
And yes, I saw both books as different, and the second I liked Lucy better than in the first one, the first one seemed to be a little wilder in the action-oriented plot (the second not so action oriented as twisted and dark).

Yes, something like that. I'll know when it shows up on my Kindle.

I liked the ending. it sort of patches up the ending of the first one, to me anyway. (Fits nicely with it). and Nick, he's so good, I keep expecting him to be some serial killer etc... But, so far, he's as good as he seems. (and he's makin the rest of us guys look bad.)

Every time I look at the title of this thread I hear it in the tune of Toby Keith's "How Do You Like Me Now".
I finished Sanford's Bad Blood (Virgil Flowers #4) and it's pretty good. I started Last Call by Tim Powers. It's had a freaky start (as usual) but is getting pretty cool so far.

Thanks, now I can listen everytime I visit this thread.

Excited to start reading Ice Hunt next.

Free download at Amazon and I'm starting to have trouble putting it down.

I think it's still free on Amazon, so certainly worth a look as others may not have the same issues I did.

Dinosaurs? Yep. Don't try to find any kind of logic here at all, it's just absolutely mindless entertainment delivered at break-neck speed.
It shouldn't work and I don't really know why it does. However, it does and I'm waiting for the next one.

I'm in the middle of reading Wool Omnibus Edition. It's kind of a Post-Apocalyptic Sci-Fi...so far has been really captivating.

Have you seen the movie Shutter Island?"
No I haven't Pam but I bet it's really good. Well if it is anything like the book but that usually isn't the case. Have you seen it?

Yes I am really enjoying it ... I am just at the part where Lacy is skating (things happen)
My favourite characters are Matt and Jen..."
That's a good part. ...just the beginning of fun things to come.

I was thinking of putting that on my to read list."
You should. The movie version is coming out this month and if I don't read the book before I see the movie, I never will. What I like.so far is that they mix what really happened in Lincoln's life with fiction so you really believe things happen the way they did. To be far, I'm only 1/3 of the way done so my opinion of the book may change.
I just finished reading Wool Omnibus Edition by Hugh Howey. I highly recommend this book. I read the omnibus edition which is actually a collection of the 5 short-stories that make up the book. Each short-story is written as its own complete story, but they must be read in order, as the characters and plot intertwine to reveal a final captivating conclusion. It's one of those books that you can't really talk about without giving anything away...If you like Science Fiction that takes place in an apocalyptic or dystopian future, then you will enjoy this book. If you are not sure, then read the first short-story Wool and I bet you will be hooked like I was :)

That was on a special for Kindle, so I picked it up. is it good? (It had a lot of raters and a high average star rating. I figured it would be worth a shot.)

Ice Hunt's "Da Bomb!" It just keeps going and getting more and more fun. I liked it.

I really enjoyed it Hugh...Did you buy just book 1 or the Omnibus edition? The Omnibus has all 5 books of the story in it.

YAY...Welcome to the club!

I just started Lost Girls by Bob Mayer. It's a more traditional action adventure. Sort of a cross between a traditional Espionage story and a crime thriller.
We'll see how it is. It's had a couple of odd word chooses, but, generally, other than being another super secret society of the super secret out to save the USA from Terrorists foreign and domestic. It's an okay read. I haven't read anything that leads me to beliv it's "Special" but, it's early yet. It's kind of like Lucas Davenport meets the Chess Team.

I was also wondering about Lost Girls.
I just started Hexed Okay so far, nothing new or exciting...
