Synopsis:A twelve-year-old girl and her younger brother go on the run in the woods of North Idaho, pursued by four men they have just watched commit murder---four men who know exactly who William and Annie are, and who know exactly where their desperate mother is waiting for news of her children’s fate. Retired cops from Los Angeles, the killers easily persuade the inexperienced sheriff to let them lead the search for the missing children.

I've finished the Talbot Trilogy by David Weber (Part of the Honor Harrington Saga) and I've started Terminal Freeze by Lincoln Child. I may have read this before, but it's too early to tell. I'm doing the audio book so I can finish it in a timely manner and participate in the A/A Afictionados Group Discussion for the January group read.
Scott Brick is the Narrator and, as usualy he's doing a great job with this one. I already want to punch one character and wish one of the ladies gets eaten by (finger quotes) "bears" or falls in an ice hole somewhere. Maybe that's it, she should go fargin icehole... but I digress (Yes, that's a Johnny Dangerously reference, Michael Keaton). Whishing the attractive lady in an action book harm is rare for me... but... hheehh.. I'm just a guy (yes that's a Bill Engvall, 21 Years of Marriage reference) .
I like Preston and Childs, or in this case just Childs. SO far I'm enjoying it (the reference to appriciated potential character misfortune above is a testament to having iritating characters that I love to hate who are written to be iratating characters.
Good read so far. And since it's 15F degrees here (-9 C degrees) here right now (with the sun shining)...I can identify with them some what.

I just finished Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption...a very emotional story. Looking forward to seeing the movie.

The Art of Fielding
A Long Strange Trip: The Inside History of the Grateful Dead
Revival
I don't know what to read next.

Finished this one the other night. Great, great book. I'm looking forward to reading another story by Box.
Now I'm reading Djibouti by Elmore Leonard.

I just heard about this trilogy (and the author) last month, and after reading some glowing reviews its now on my next-read pile. All three of the books look really awesome, as well as Riddle's another stand alone sci-fi thriller Departure which seems to me has some resemblance with my most favorite TV show Lost!

I'll be interested to hear what you think of Gone Girl.

As of now, I've only read the first one: Odd Thomas. That was my favorite Koontz novel and one of the best psychological thriller I've read. How's the later ones? Can you please give me a quick flash of the other books in the series compared to the first one? Thanks :)

One thing I found interesting about that book. You either liked the book or didn't...I was one of those who didn't enjoy the book. But, I do look forward the watching the movie.
I just finished Blood Work and I really liked it. Good twist and turns for a mystery.

Sharon wrote: "Finished Zoo pretty traditional fare for action/adventure but I personally found the premise (mammals suddenly turn killer) disturbing as a long time animal person."
That sounds more like a family reunion to me...

There is always Weber's Honorverse... (Honor Harrington)... or if you want to go non-fiction... I'm enjoying "Who's in Charge?" by M.S. Gazzaniga.
Any feeling about genre Eileen? I've had a couple of 4 star reads lately, though I'd like to find another 5 star, LOL.

I note three books on your list that I thought were excellent reads. Real page-turners:
Ghost Story
Heart-Shaped Box
Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption

I've been browsing all your shelves to see what to read next. Very impressive gentleman.
I started Magic Bites am on chapter 4 and not sure I'll finish it. Not to say it isn't bad, just not exciting me.
Maybe I need to read something in the non fiction genre.

Helter Skelter: The True Story of the Manson Murders
The Demonologist: The Extraordinary Career of Ed and Lorraine Warren
Steve Jobs

Or
Fight Club
How about a fun audio book like
John Dies at the End

Eileen, that is exactly how I felt after the book I started last week so I switched to a non-fiction as well. I am reading " In the Land of Invisible Women" and finding it interesting. Not my usual genre. Sometimes we just need a change .

The March 2015 Group Read Theme poll is up. Vote before January 31st.

Then splitting time between

I gave it 4 stars here.
It was another excellent mystery thriller from Koryta & well read. It was quite a bit longer than I expected, but great to the last drop.

This morning I started Pet Sematary.

I've decided to start reading Runner and I'm hooked after only the first few chapters.

Great! Eagerly waiting for your opinion when you finish :)

I'm at the part of the story [spoilers removed]"
Yeah, that character was a waste really, (view spoiler)
