You have to read Ice Station. That is still my favorite by Reilly!

Agreed. Thats my most favorite Reilly to date too. After finishing Scarecrow and the Army of Theives last year, I'm impatiently waiting to see the return of Shane Schofield, but unfortunately from Reilly's interviews, it looks like it'll be a while after the return of Jack West Jr in a new adventure and maybe a new novella starring the great Black Knight (from Scarecrow), which should be great I think.
Anyway, finished reading The Dragon Factory, and although it was good, entertaining fun timepass, the 1st Joe Ledger thriller Patient Zero was much better imo. I really didn't care for jumping through all the hundreds of subplots and flashbacks and side characters... To me it just made the pace slower and the book unnecessarily bloated.

My short review:

The River of Souls I've finished The Atlantis Gene and The Atlantis Plague. I've started Departure because I hit the wrong button, but it's a good science driven techno-thriller with a twist. They were good reads, I'll read #3. I also finished all the Honor Harrington I can handle for a while. The Short Stories in the Honor-verse are the really good if you like Sci-fi stories.
I managed to finish The River of Souls too. That's a fun series that's a little different. There's action but, mostly it's adventure and mystery. McCammon's descriptions are really wierd but delightful.

Because Sacketts Harbor is a 15 minute drive I really shoulf have a better uderstanding of local history so reading 1812: The Navy's War

As for me I am into the 2nd Rho Agenda sci-fi thriller:

Two books already read and enjoyed:

I just finished Prison of Hope, the forthcoming installment in the Hellequin series. It's awesome. I'm already pining for the next book.

I've finished theThe Atlantis Gene trillogy. It makes for an interesting series. The last one and the first ones are the best.
I also readDeparture, selected by accident. It turned out to be a good dystopian mystery. A bit slow at either end, but but lots of fun in the middle and the mystery was good. (Maybe not an action adventure like the Atlantis Series.)
I am now reading Empires and Barbarians: The Fall of Rome and the Birth of Europe by Peter Heather. Facinating, but a little complex if you are not used to non-fiction history books.

This book hooked me on the series as well. The first book was particularly good, others are good, some better than others, but I've read the entire series and it hasn't disappointed me yet. I agree that the character is definitely not traditional.

Just started Sunday Nights at Seven by Jack Benny.

What is it based around? Is it a spy novel or something else? Looking for my next book to read :)

If you've read any of the Clive Cussler books, those are the closest type to the James Rollins novels that I can think of and mot of Rollins books have an archaeology link.
I finished The Crusades by Zoé Oldenbourg. Interesting and, practically dizzying. So it's not action fiction, but there is a lot of action, sort of...
To put the past two books to good use, I picked up A Crucible of Souls by Mitchell Hogan.
It's narrated by Oliver Wyman. THose of us who listen to a lot of audiobooks should remember Wyman's narration of the Monster Hunter International Pentathology. Started with a bloody sword fight and magic duel in the woods... can't be all bad.

I just finished Blood Oath. Think of Matthew Reilly or James Rollins meets Monster Hunter International. For 140 years, Nathaniel Cade has been the President's Vampire, sworn to protect and serve his country against the supernatural. This was a great urban fantasy story full of lots of action. Definitely nothing like your typical vampire story. This was the first book of the series and I see lots of room for improvement, but overall a good read and I am looking forward to seeing where it goes from here.

Thanks very much for the recommendation. Never heard of the series or the writer, but this looks damn interesting. Always on the lookout for a great-looking exciting new series! Going on my to-read list. Thanks again.
