where?

I'm sure Patti will be pleased to hear that my purple bathroom is probably staying. The builder couldn't decide whether it is impossible or just too expensive to move a bit of wall. The wall needs to go so that I could have a normal sized bath instead of one that is only big enough to sit in. So no wall moved = no bathroom as there is no point in spending money for something I don't want.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Oh Janet! I'm sorry!

I'm also sorry about missing Skype last night. I actually fell asleep on the couch!

I NEVER do that!

Yes I felt a bit depressed last night, but woke up this morning thinking I can do one of two things

1. Leave the horrible disgusting bathroom as it is, & when I am ready to sell and move on tart it up then. ~~Disadvantages - I really hate the bathroom as it is, & I would have to spend money on it to tart it up then , plus the shower really needs replacing at the very least so why don't I...

2. Spend the money now, get the benefit of a bathroom that is pleasanter to use rather than one that I really don't like I know it isn't what I really want - but the bathroom without the wall was a compromise of what I really would like but couldn't because of space. Plus not paying the builder leaves more money to do other things.

Poor Janet, not fun to have your dreams dashed! Worth a second opinion though, before you ditch your plans - a different builder, or an architect? (Trained to look for options!)

message 1806: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Yes. Option 2 definitely. Forget getting a bath and get a really ritzy huge shower instead. You can spend more on the shower if you don't need to pay the builder.

And you should have the benefit of not having to sit on a purple throne!

But I do love to soak in my bath reading (DTBs not ever my precious kindle) (even though the bath is too short to really stretch out)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Oh. Well, get used to loving really ritzy showers. ;)

Joseph “Millennium Man” (millenniumman) I wish I found this link earlier. When is the next Skype discussion going to be?

message 1810: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments Every Thursday!

Which reminds me, since I am back for the semester, I can't do Thursdays. As much as I love our Skype talks, debate has a special place in my heart.

Joseph “Millennium Man” (millenniumman) We are on UK time? I'll have to compensate for the difference from NYC time zone. Is there a specific hour everyone starts?

Good luck with classes!

Geoff (G. Robbins) (merda constat variat altitudo) (snibborg) | 8204 comments We start at 7pm, UK local time. You are welcome.

Elle, they must change their debating evening! BTW, have you seen the movie The Great Debaters?

One of our regulars has wondered whether a Saturday would be more suited to those of an international persuasion. Any thoughts?

message 1813: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Yes!!!

I miss Skype.

Sunday afternoon UK time would work for me too.

I could Skype while Dave watches the stupid football.

message 1814: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments Sunday afternoon would be amazing <3

I haven't seen the movie Geoff. Must look it up!

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Sunday afternoon could be a problem for me as I am often not home until 4 or five.

message 1816: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments That's 8 or 9pm for me. Still better than 11pm

message 1817: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments I could do early Sunday evening as well. Sundays are pretty slow days for me, mostly sorting things in the house and getting around to catching up with things I ignored throughout the week!

message 1818: by Joseph “Millennium Man” (last edited Feb 03, 2013 02:28PM) (new)

Joseph “Millennium Man” (millenniumman) I went to the beginning of this thread and believe I have found the Skype info I need to join.

Joseph “Millennium Man” (millenniumman) Superbowel or Super bowl Sunday when everyone drinks beer and looks at the "game" on the tube and yells in camaraderie.
Maybe there will be a wardrobe malfunction this year.

Geoff (G. Robbins) (merda constat variat altitudo) (snibborg) | 8204 comments I should be able to fit in with the Sunday thing at the moment. The only problem is if I should have to work away from home as I travel on a Sunday evening.

message 1821: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Lets hope you don't.

Geoff (G. Robbins) (merda constat variat altitudo) (snibborg) | 8204 comments So, are we to set something up for Sundays and see how it goes?

message 1823: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments 5pm UK time on Sunday. I'll be on Skype then.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments I'll be there if i'm there.

message 1825: by Emma (new)

Emma (emzibah) | 4125 comments Sundays are great for me too, all except this Sunday as I will be in London at a concert! Will be around next week though I think x

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Are we going to switch completely to sunday or run both thursday and sunday?

message 1827: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Up to you lot.

I can't see myself being available on Thursdays very often.

message 1828: by Tim (new)

Tim | 8539 comments I'm just starting to become available on Thursdays... Not a hope for Sundays though.

message 1829: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments No harm in doing two nights. Or more, even.

It's great fun!

message 1830: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments I might not be there, I'll probably be crying into a pillow at the loss of my cousin and her wee baby.

(By loss I mean they will be going home)

message 1832: by Tim (new)

Tim | 8539 comments Or both... ;)

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments I am definitely available on thursdats, and may or may not on sundays. I think we could do both.

message 1834: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Of course, I'll do as many Thursdays as I'm able.

I'm planning on skyping tonight.

You joining us tonight Tim?

message 1835: by Tim (new)

Tim | 8539 comments No, I'm out tonight unfortunately, but I'm in for several Thursdays after that.

Rosemary (grooving with the Picts) (nosemanny) | 8590 comments I'm out tonight, again. Only managed to join in once - expect you're all thinking I was scared off!

message 1837: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Oh that's a shame Tim. That you won't be around tonight, I mean. Dunno when I'll be able to do another Thursday.

Wouldn't blame you if you were scared off Rosemary. ;)

Do try n join us again sometime!

Emma (emzibah) | 4125 comments Sorry I didn't answer but am just heading off to Jazzercise so won't be around for Skype tonight. Have fun all xx

Joseph “Millennium Man” (millenniumman) I don't know anyone here. I hope to meet you all. Three pm eastern time must be about 8:30 UK

Joseph “Millennium Man” (millenniumman) May I join in?
Anyone need my username?

message 1843: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments I was knitting so I missed Skype

message 1844: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments Last nights debate was simply fascinating but not as hilarious as our Skype chats.

Sunday is good for me but someone will have to remind me as I plan to spend most this weekend catching up with my TV shows and watching some movies. I have an entire free house. Hallelujah.
