If it's ever been for sale, GR keeps it in the database, because there are copies out there. Even if it's not being sold anymore, people who have copies, or have read copies, or find copies in used book stores, flea markets, yard sales and libraries may want to shelve it.

(The Not A Book trick is reserved for books with ISBNs which were NEVER published.)
Many users use Goodreads as a way of cataloging their books, so we don't remove books from the database that someone could have in their collection. Regardless of their availability.
I thought this might be the case. I'll put a note in the description that it is no longer available so readers won't be confused. Thank you so much for your answers!

No need to shout, the author wasn't giving anyone a hard time and in fact agreed to obey.
I am the author of this two-pack of Space Junque and Spiderwork. I've taken it off sale, and it won't be offered again. I'd like to remove it from the Goodreads database, if that's appropriate. It has a few ratings but no reviews, so I don't think it would insult any readers to have it removed.
Is this possible? Is it something I could do myself by changing the author name to NOT A BOOK?
