The word is BOKS or BRAAI (your choice). Lets get started!

You use the first letter of a book you have read in August (A, an, the.. you can leave out). Or you can use the first letter of the Authors name or Surname.

Good luck everyone!

I also go according to the day I finish. How have you found Blindness Katherine?

Katherine (kathldk) | 141 comments I'm quite enjoying it - the exploration of morality and how society falls apart and so on is very interesting. I think it could just as easily have been called "Kindness". But it's definitely not for the weak of stomach.

Lauren Smith I enjoyed it too. Saramago also has a very calm writing style (perhaps because he uses almost no punctuation, just commas and fullstops if I remember correctly), even though he writes about some horrific things.

Katherine (kathldk) | 141 comments Yeah. The lack of punctuation and same-line dialogue confused me at first, and I thought it was just a mangled ebook version or something until I read some reviews on here and saw that that was how it was supposed to be. But yes, it's slow, and calm, and methodical, and hypnotic, and at the same time *what* he's saying is so incredibly powerful, moving and disturbing.
