This thread is to discuss books that are equally action and horror elements.

Can you think of some?

Event works but barely. Maybe Trappedor Enduranceby Jack Kilborn (A.K.A. J A Konrath). They weren't my favorite books but they were almost non-stop bloody gorey, scary-make-you-want-to-puke action, that's for sure.

These are marked as horror, but they seem to have a lot of buttkicking of the monster variety:

Blood Blade (Skinners, # 1) by Marcus Pelegrimas Howling Legion (Skinners, #2) by Marcus Pelegrimas Teeth of Beasts (Skinners, # 3) by Marcus Pelegrimas Vampire Uprising (Skinners, #4) by Marcus Pelegrimas The Breaking (Skinners, #5) by Marcus Pelegrimas Extinction Agenda (Skinners, #6) by Marcus Pelegrimas

The Vampire Hunters (The Vampire Hunters #1) by Scott M. Baker was another horror book with very good action elements.

Preston and Child books, I think, mix some horror and action elements together. Books like Relic.

Relic is one of my favorite Preston/Child book. I agree it has a great mix of horror and action.

Yea, and

Lightning was a good read.

Alexander Draganov (darthsparhawk) I must also say that "Phantoms" by Dean Koontz is a great novel. I also liked "Dark fall" by the same author and "Terminal Freeze" by Lincoln Child.

So far, I'm really enjoying Still Life with Crows! I think I've found a new series. :)

Keri (keri_45) | 110 comments How about F. Paul Wilson's Repairman Jack series. They must be read in order, as the each book builds upon the next. Awesome series!

Keri (keri_45) | 110 comments Jason Still Life with Crows was one of P and C's better books. So is Cabinets of Curosities.

Markm | 67 comments I personally think its his best book. Outside the Jack series. F Paul did say he has ideas for sequeal. I feel good that I was one of the people that clammered for stories about Jacks early years with Abe and Julio.

Never Deal with a Dragon By N. Charrette. The first three books. I kind of lot touch after the first three. Then one morning I woke up and it's like there was a Shadowrun Explosion. They even have a Shadowrun RPG!

But the first three books were actually fun reads.

Markm | 67 comments Love dragons and as my pic in here attests too lol.

Nicolas Wilson | 10 comments The wife enjoyed The Act of Laughing. It's probably on the threshold between horror and action/adventure, but she said it was pretty fast paced, and the police-procedural thriller subplots were interesting and well done. Could use a good proofread/edit, but she said the content itself was crisply done, and entertaining.

I finished Damoren this morning and it's a good action horror novel about monster hunters with special weapons they bond to. I'd recommend it to people like action and horror combined.
