Ridley | 72 comments Now, I know SOP is to combine multiple editions of the same book, even if another version's fairly different. But this book and this re-release differ by almost 200 pages. Should these really be the same book? Or is this just the publisher's problem for not renaming it?

Given that both are ebooks, it's hard to know how accurate/comparable those page numbers are.

Ridley | 72 comments Okay, how about this: is there a threshold at which a revision becomes its own book? I've been talking to the author, and she says its changed to the point that she considers them different books. The original was 40k and the new version is 60k words.

It's a judgment call, certainly. If you separate them out, be sure to put Librarian's Notes on each edition, so they don't just get recombined.
