Welcome to the Erasers. Society is filled with so much uselessness, so much redundancy. Sturgeon said it best: "90% of everything is crap."
But what if we could get rid of that 90%. Only the usefull deserve to stay. Not the useless. So, we can just erase them. They won't exsist, you can make sure of that.
Speaking of an Erased is illegal. Hearing about an Erased is illegal. Spreading lies and rumors that an Erased had honor or was usefull is illegal. Breaking any rules of the Erasers is illegal. Defying the king and queen of the Erasers is illegal. Anything illegal is punishable by Erasing.
There is a rebellion. They call them selves Inked, marking their wrists with black circlets that state their allegience. No matter how hard you try to Erase them, they will still be there. Taking part in Inked is illegal.

Name: Dmitri
Age: 17
Gender: male
Personality: He's the kid who no one expected anything from. Well, he turned out to be just what the resistant needed. Calm in the face of danger, gets through life with a smirk you love or hate, and has an overall attitude proving he doesn't care what others think. Some people don't know why they even trust him, but he proves himself worthy of the trust he gets. last thing he'd ever do is rat you out.

Background: His sister was Erased when he was younger, and he never forgot that. Then, his father got into an accident, and he was Erased too. So Dmitiri didn't forget. His mother accepted losing her daughter and husband, and that's how she lost her son. He ran into trouble with the law a few times, but by then he'd had it. He wanted something done, so he did what all people need to do: he started the resistance. So he's up against the world, if anyone finds him, a fate worse than Erasing await him. He loves it.

Weapon of choice: Good old trusty dagger. Doesn't run out of bullets, hides easily, quiet as ever, and never expected.
Other: Never really one to follow rules, his authority issues make him a little cold hearted, but someone could brake through that layer of ice and sneak into his heart.

Anyway, I was thinking of making a chick for him, a kind of timid second in command who looks/seems like she constantly needs protection? Any thoughts on the matter?

I think it would work perfectly if she shows that sometimes, she's actually protecting him the same way.

Gender:F
Personality: Fierce, touchy(as in easily set off), gentle enough only around certain people, cold, harsh, just angry at the world really. Really, though, she can be very fragile deep deep down beneath the heavily barricaded walls of her heart.
Appearance:
Background: Shae used to be living in what she believed to be a perfectly acceptable and fair world when this dream shattered. Her dearly beloved brother was traced down and supposedly erased, and like the rest of society, her family refused to acknowledge his existence. She had a falling out with them and went to find him and prove it. After a month of searching, she found him. In a terrible, tattered, broken state, but he was alive. This event of her life changed her from the happy, bright girl she was into a hard, cold being solely devoted to taking down the Erasers. To mark this change in her life, she cut her once waist-length hair incredibly short. She only considers her brother her family now.

Weapon of choice: guns, but likes knives as well
Others: Her slightly younger sister is among the Erasers and her family considers both Shae and Andrew to not be existing. She is very close to her brother and he is really the only one she'll talk to about her feelings if she was so inclined to actually feel something other than hate and anger.

Personality: Nikita isn't a pleasant person; she never was. She has an odd obsession with red- no matter what form it takes or where it comes from. She can't help her anger, which is uncontrolable. She's like a time bomb just waiting to blow. And when she explodes, someone gets hury. There isn't an explanation for why one girl could have so many negative things about her until yoh hear her story, but she's not likely to telk you unless she's really close.to the person. She's a very independent person, with a lot going for her if she would get over a few issuses.

Age: 16
Gender:F
Personality: A bit two-faced. Sometimes she can be almost inhuman when she is cruel, cold as ice about erasing people. She can be normal and smily around non-erased people or not inked. Her evil side is kind of like Jane from Twilight.
Appearance:
Background: She became an Eraser shortly before her brother was targeted. Once he was supposedly taken out, she stopped acknowledging his existence without regret and belittled Shae for thinking differently, accusing her of breaking the law and ultimately questioning her usefulness in dwelling on such a subject. Although Shae was her sister, the true, unconditional bond sisters were supposed to share shattered as easily as glass. She no longer believes she has any siblings other than the one her mother is pregnant with. She is very excited for the child.
Side: Leader of Erasers
Weapon of choice: anything handy. She once killed with a ketchup bottle without skipping a beat then went to a child's birthday party, completely unaffected
Others: She is the sister of Andrew and Shae, but doesn't acknowledge it. As an eraser, she is stone cold, but other than that she is completely normal. She has a very delicate frame and isn't very strong physically, but she fights smart.

Personality: She doesn't care what you think, she doesn't care what you say, and she doesn't care what you do. Until it's her job to care about you. Puts up a cold shield no one can phase.

Background: She knew her brother was a traitor. She didn't care when he was Erased, even admired the Erasers. She joined them, her parents proud, and took the path of glory.

Well you start talking, but idea has already been formed: they turn Erased into a personal army!

Personality: Incredibly quiet and thoughtful. Very much an observer rather than an actor. He is a great listener and a good person to confide in. He is very blunt and passive, doesn't like to fight.
Appearance:
Background: He was erased, well supposed to be erased. He didn't even know it was coming until they started chasing them. He was beaten badly then thrown off a cliff, left for dead. He didn't know how he survived. His memory of that time was really fuzzy. He hardly even remembers his sister finding him. He just remembers the shock, the pain, and the numbness that consumed him. He still had some hope for his family when he realized that it wasn't reasonable, he accepted it, understanding that was just how things ended up. He was never the same ignorant, silly teenager after what happened. Where he was once outspoken, he was now quiet. Not all the wounds have healed yet, but he does his best to cover it up.
Side: Inker
Weapon of choice: He wishes none, but has a handgun.
Others: Still worries about his family and his younger sisters, especially Talia because he knows that they are all still in danger of the government. He worries about Shae because she is always angry. He is one of the more practical ones in the group, that thinks things through whereas others are more hot-headed. He doesn't care to be leader, but if his advice was ever asked for he would give his honest, straight up opinion.

Gender: Female
Personality: Timid, scared. One of those people whom most--especially men--can't help but want to protect. She's always trailing next to Dmitri, usually holding his hand, and rarely speaks. Her orders are more of questions, but no one disobeys her. They wouldn't dare. She's been hardened by her losses.

She has a small, petite frame. Quite a bit shorter than Dmitri.
Background: Blythe was always the youngest. She had eight older siblings. Then, one day when she was fifteen, they were all Erased. Every last one of them. Blythe, having hid while they were taken, covered her ears and tried to block out their screams of fear. She never spoke again.
Until she met Dmitri. He was a lot nicer to her than the others, who merely looked away in sympathy. Even her own parents threatened to 'turn her in' to the Erasers if she didn't start speaking. But Dmitri got it. His crazy ideas made sense to her. She knew what it was like to want revenge. So, when he started the Inked, she was there.
After she ran off with the Inked, her own parents joined the Erasers for the sole purpose of finding their daughter.
Side: Second in command of the Inked
Weapon of Choice: A small, silver pistol. Has one of those sleeve daggers on her wrist as well.
Other: She's always by Dmitri's side, follows him around like a little timid, wide-eyed puppy.

Age: 18
Gender:M
Personality: Caden hasn't really been able to show much of his real personality up to this point because of the government's erasers striking fear into the heart of their family. He is a bit rebellious, but in the quiet, underneath the skin kind of way. In public, he is just a silent shadow.
Appearance:
Background:When he was around 6 or 7, his older sister was taken screaming from their home to be erased. He never forgot that day and neither did his parents. His family lives in fear and although they obey the rules in public, in private, they remember, and are against the government, but won't join the Inkers for fear of getting any more of their children erased. Caden works for the town's newspaper as a photographer, but he keeps a private documentation of the government's erasing people, or even abductions, for himself and his family.

Weapon of choice: none
Others: His family has a secret basement where they would hide if they were to be erased. There is a tunnel from there to out of town so they could escape. They know where the Inkers are in case they'd ever have to contact them.

I think we need to start with a little compar and contrast. The Erasers having an elegant dinner while getting a report of the days activities, and Dmitri opening Inked dinner with a classic speech.

Personality: She always sticks to the rules, never giving the Erasers a reason to go after her. Sweet, kind, and has a quick smile for everyone, Eve is friends with almost everyone in town. But behind this lovely face of hers, no one actually knows what she has in store.
Appearance:
Background: When she was 14, Eve had lost her twin brother to the Erasers. He was accused of rebellion. She knew her brother was framed. Someone in the authority hates her twin. And since then, she vowed to find out who that someone is and avenge her brother's death in anyway she can.

Others: Though she may not look like it, Eve has mastered a lot of fighting stunts and martial arts with the help of her father.
Her family owns a grocery and she helps running it when she is not out teaching in a primary school.

Personality: He's the boy-next-door type. Sweet, caring, and loyal, he always finds it easy to break into someone's barrier. Has an easy smile, and is easy to be friends with.
Appearance:
Background: He was 10 when he his whole family was Erased. He was lucky enough to be able to hide and be saved by an old couple. But when they passed away because of old age, with the continuous opression of the government, he decided to be Inked.
He is known to be the group's spy.

Personality: He's quiet. Reserved. Not a lot of people feel comfortable around him. The feeling is mutual.

Background: Han is probably the only person who knows what things are like. Always. Once an Eraser, he made a mistake, one that almost caused him his life. He was almost Erased, but being one of them, managed to escape. He recently found the Inked and has been working for them ever since. Most would expect him to know all the secrets of the Erasers, but there aren't many. Erasers are kept in the dark as much as anyone else. They are bred for brute force; clean cut, intimidating, perfect. Most are afraid of him because he was an Eraser, and he's afraid of the Inked. He spends most of his time in Border Patrol.

Hang on, so the Inked are like a group who try to stop the Erasers from doing away with people they consider to be a 'waste of space'? I'm not familiar with the series, so is there like an authority who decides who is redundant and 'erasable' Are the Erasers supported by whatever government there is? Are the Erasers brainwashed or stripped emotionally somehow?

Yes, the Erasers are supported by the government. No, not brainwashed. I suppose some could be considered emotionally damaged, but that could be debatable. Whoever is not efficient or contributing to society in a positive manner, or that is a "waste of space" will be erased. They may not even know its coming or their families until it happens. Kind of like the secret police in a way. Anyways, Inked is a rebel group. They want to overthrow the Erasers and put an end to the whole system. They are camped out in the woods and occasionally get into scuffles with the Erasers.

Personality: Evan is focused, no two ways about it, all he cares about is surviving, and sticking it to the Erasers. But to his fellow Inkers, he's supportive, encouraging, his sense humour is a little dark at times, and he tends to laugh when nobody else does, a bit of a maverick but can be relied upon to be a valuable team player.

Background:
Evan was the only survivor after the Erasers stormed the apartment complex in the Resource Sector where his parents lived. He managed to elude Eraser Stalkers by hiding in the ventilation system, he was 5 at the time, and small for his age. Growing up in the company of Subdrifters, hiding from Eraser sweeps in the all but forgotten underworks, moving from place to place in the labyrinthine passages of the old meant to maintain the sewer system of the Old City. Stumbled upon a wounded Inker ( maybe Blythe or someone else what do you reckon?) who had escaped an attempted Erasure (execution), and nursed her back to health before alerting the Inkers, on her instructions. Inducted into the Inkers as a sign of thanks.

No, Han's been there a while, he just never sees anyone else. But still, problem solved. Evan's only twenty one anyway.
