Chris Tettamanti | 11 comments What is the policy for requesting a book to be removed because of a duplicate exists?

Here is the bad GoodReads link: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/11...

Here is the correct GoodReads link: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/11...

Chris Tettamanti | 11 comments Ah....It may be that the "correct" link above is the wrong Clark Howard. Needs to be reclassified to the self-help/money advise Clark Howard...Not the mystery writer Clark.

Lobstergirl It needed to be nabbed rather than deleted, it was one of those multiple copy ones.

John Jr. (john_e_branch_jr) | 58 comments Yesterday I found two bad entries for an upcoming book. Neither has the correct main title and subtitle, nor the correct publisher (judging both from the current Amazon entry and the advance reading copy I have at home). Since I'm not a librarian (not enough books), I can make no changes and am not sure what the best method would be anyway.

Incorrect #1: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/10...

Incorrect #2: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/12...

The correct main title is now "The Will to Climb," and the subtitle ends with "Deadliest Peak" (not "Most Deadly Peak"). The correct publisher is Crown Publishers.

The Amazon entry: http://www.amazon.com/Will-Climb-Obse...

Karen· (kmoll) | 5 comments What is the etiquette on books that have been added by users where some info is missing? I found a nasty spelling mistake on the title of one edition of Olive Kitteridge, and then noticed there are two listed without any indication of the publisher.

Have they been imported from Barnes and Noble, do B&N have their own editions? Sorry, I'm new to the librarian thing, and also not in the USA, so I'm not sure of the B&N outfit. Thanks!

Yes, but they would have ISBNs, and list B&N as the source (instead of the GR users who were listed on these).

Editions with no additional information than title and author can be deleted (once combined with the other editions of the work), which moves over all the reviews to the most popular edition. We call that "merging". If the no-info edition has been shelved fewer than 5 times, any librarian can do that; if more than, you'd post it in the please delete thread for attention from a superlibrarian.

I got those two.
