Sandi I know I've read somewhere before that titles aren't included in author names, except for people who are known for it (eg. Lord Byron). Now what about Joseph Freiherr von Eichendorff? He has multiple author names on goodreads:

On WolrdCat I found both "Joseph Eichendorff, Freiherr von" and "Joseph von Eichendorff". Coincidentally, German Wikipedia leaves his title Freiherr out, while English Wikipedia has it as part of the name. The book I have in my hands also has his full name Joseph Freiherr von Eichendorff on the cover. I think at least in Germany he is widely known with the title included. So which name should we keep on goodreads?

Vicky (librovert) | 2462 comments Joseph von Eichendorff already has author data, I merged them all into that (and a few others that I found). At least they're all in one place now, if someone thinks the name should be changed it can be done with one edit.

Sandi At least it's less messy now, thank you!

I guess the a.k.a. feature will take care of these things, whenever it's ready.
