Who's your favorite and why?

I don't have a favorite. Of course, Raffe, to me, is the most interesting!

Loved Raffe! Can't wait to see what she does with him.

Raffe and Penryn equally!

Hmmm...one favorite? Sorry, can't pick! I found all of them very interesting, though especially want to know more about Raffe and how he got to that place on the street where Penryn first saw him.

I loved Penryn... she was just so determined and kick-ass that how could you not?

Of course i liked Raffe too (uhmm hello...hot angel with a corny sense of humor? yes please!) but Penryn is held just a litttle bit higher in my eyes!

I'm probably the only one to think so, but I liked Pen's mother best. I have a weakness for insane and mean characters. Layla has crazy potential too.
I mean, sure I love Penryn and Raffe, but there motives are much clearer than Pen's mother's. That's why I like her so much. She's going to be really interesting in the next volumes of this series. At least I hope so.

i agree with you Caro! well..maybe penryn's mom wasn't my favorite..but she did make the book so much juicier :)

I think she's going to be very important to this story. She speaks a different language (supposedly gibberish...hmmmm...what if....), a "demon" tells her where to go, and she feels something is hunting her children. AND, Penryn can hold an angel's sword when no one can. What if Layla weren't human? What if Pen's father wasn't human? What other beings are out there? Are there wingless angels? The possibilities!

Penryn's mom was both scary and interesting to me. I wonder why she kept carting around all those rotten eggs? The fact that she could hear and see things...maybe she wasn't schizophrenic? Maybe she is just one of those sensitive people that can actually see things?

I agree (on all accounts), AH. Those eggs had me questioning her sanity, but then, like you said, she just may have gifts that she hasn't learned to control.

that scene where she defiles a corpse as a sign that she's okay...that makes me think she just doesn't have all her marbles. Though a gift would be a pretty cool twist.

To be honest though..i kind of like that's she's ..well..crazy. It made her a surprising, irrational side character. To me, giving her a gift would ruin her character.

Supposedly, crazy people can see things others can't. Or, maybe she's crazy for a reason. Has she experienced something because she's crazy or is she crazy because something happened? Chicken and the egg. *eyebrow lift*

It think that she's a) crazy for a reason and b) the reason will be (or at least should be) important to the rest of the series.
I hope we find out more about her in volume 2!

She did "see" and "hear" demons...

I am holding my fave character card out for Penny's dad...the mom does bring the juicy factor. Which makes me think she is a watcher for her missing archangel hubby, and they have two angel girls...one demon and one divine...maybe Pen and Paige won't get their wings before they are adults? The rotten eggs must mark the gates of heaven and hell or something maybe? Idk

The eggs threw me (that sounded weird but you know what I mean).

I loved all the characters! But I of course loved Penryn. I'm not sure if anyone else has read it, but Penryn slightly reminds me of Temple from The Reapers Are the Angels. Which is a totally good thing, because I loved Temple!

No problem, ladies! It's a great zombie book, with a kick-ass heroin similar (imo) to Penryn :)

I can't choose between any of them. They're all equally interesting. Hopefully we'll get more background information on all of them and learn more about the absent father.

Laylah! hahahaha jk. I despise her. I loved Raffe and Penryn, but who couldn't. Besides them though, I think it would have to be the Spymaster Twins Dee-Dum

Josiah is may favorite, hands down! :)

I know people think he's scary but he sounds like some gorgeous, ethereal lab rat lol. I feel bad that he's torn between his loyalty to Raphael and saving himself.

I loved Raffe!! ^-^ Though Penryn is second only to him, she's a refreshing sight to the genre's female heroines who lack her badassness! Hahaa. Oh! and TwiddleDee-Dum are my favorites too! They were cute xD Lol

Josiah was my fave, too! But I wish we knew what happened between the whole Laylah and Josiah thing towards the end... (hint: the surgery)

yeah, I wonder if Layla set Raffe up; I don't think Josiah knew that was going to happen, I think he really was trying to help Raffe.

I think so, too. I just wish there was more. It ended way too abruptly for me.

Of course I get excited every time we have a scene with Raffe, so maybe he's my favorite, I don't know. Even Paige in the end was captivating. Layla was mysterious, Penryn's mom was intriguing, Dee-Dum and Obi were nice touches... I just can't wait to get to know everyone better. I'm so excited for the rest of this series I can barely contain myself. There is so much more I want to know about Raffe and the angels and their world.

Penryn no raffe actually I'm gonna pick the two of them penryn could take care of herself and was a great heroine but raffe omg I love him! He too was a badass and was so sweet at the end of the book ;__; I need the second book I miss these characters :(

I obviously fell for Raffe but Penryn's mum is definitely my favourite ! I find her so interesting and hilarious. I just love her !
