London is the setting of a good part of the book I am reading now. When I was there once we stayed in Finsbury Park. Is that close by?

not really.
but russel hoban is one of my favorite authors, and it might a differnce to you to read him!

Currently in Estella, a lovely town full of surprises and wonderful nooks and crannies to explore

Very exciting and glad to hear you are "on the path". Keep us posted as time allows!

I am today in a place called(I believe) Carrion de la condre an amazing little town where it is possible to get lost. KInk! what gorgeous images of yes Estella thanks for posting, I havent been able to upload mine so double thanks!

I have been stranded in worse places.

That's where I'm hoping to retire in a few years! (I hope you like it!!)

welcome to flight paths!
if there are enough refugees here we could add a CBC folder!
I'd like to join your group as well, do I need an invitation? between our two groups we might have even more fun

well figure this out!

I've just finished Anything Is Possible by Elizabeth Strout. It plays off characters in the life of Lucy Barton, star of My Name Is Lucy Barton. I found the book terrifically exciting-I loved every story.
I'm also reading The Lonely City: Adventures in the Art of Being Alone, a non-fiction book about loneliness and its use in art-centered in my own NYC. I'm loving it as well but it's intense so I need to take breaks.
I finished my poetry class so I'm catching up on reading, when I'm not working. The snow storm gave me a great excuse to lay about and read!

@Ellie, how great of you to beat me to it in welcoming MaryAnne to our hangout.
She is one of my favorite people in the Canadian content group, as is Petra. So happy to welcome them.
Ellie,I'm glad you are OK and got some good reads happening. Very good time for staying indoors.
Stay warm!

I guess I will have to introduce myself. Let me think about what I want to reveal.

@ MaryAnne : hopefully if you play around the different topics you will find some inspiration for jumping in.

It would be great if someone had the skills of our esteemed and capable co founder HRO
who kept the map updated.

Lovely to see you here"
It's lovely to be here! It may take me a while to get oriented.

I'm Megan, I live in Edmonton. A lover of Can lit and other books, but mostly Can lit.

If so please send me a friend request~ when I checked your profile indicated a sock puppet! We need to keep this space clear and real although I fear there are a few malicious lurkers. Since my rotten experience with CC I may be more cautious.
This may be a comment more suitable for whine and cheese!
I hope you are all having fun with the various threads.
Feel free to add comments! You can be sure someone will jump in.I'm excited to see where this takes you and to hear about your process. MaryAnne and Petra included in this: how do you choose what to read next? Do you have any kind of plan>

I once knew a man who when he retired always had 50 books on a book shelf. When he read a book he would give it away and buy a new book. To choose what to read he had a lottery system, think die that went from 1 to 50. Each book on his shelf had a slot, with a number, and so he would read whatever fate had decided for him to read, whether it was fiction, nonfiction, whatever. Did I tell you he had been a bank manager who had a nervous breakdown and had to take early retirement?

Hi Megan.

I do find my old lists when I dig a bit and sometimes there are still some books on those lists that I would like to read, and lo and behold they are now available at a library.

Now I have goodreads I follow bingo, or sometimes I just go through my to read list on goodreads and put books on hold at the library.
I still read books recommended to me and even the random book I pull off the library shelves.
