Autumn 2011

I just listened to this one too and it took me over half of it to get into it. I think because it is the first in the series I cut it some slack.

I started Breaking Silence by Linda Castillo.

Hi Ellen, I've listened to all of the Song of Ice and Fire Books on audio. If you want some help keeping track of all the characters, go to www.westeros.org There you will find maps and house banners as well as discussions with other fans - just watch out for spoilers! I loved the books. Hope you enjoy them too.

I'm starting The Island by Elin Hilderbrand

Thanks for the website!!! I've read the first book & I'm waiting for the 2nd.

Heidi, I finished this one on Wednesday, it started slow for me as well, but did get better towards the end. I will try

I'm starting The Island by [author..."
Oh, Wendy, I loved [bookcover:Breaking Silence|9954597], I got into this series this year and have listened to all 3 of them.

Thank you! I went to the library to photocopy the list but Game of Thrones has something like 9 people on the waiting list and I was afraid the appendix in any of the later books would be a spoiler.

Here’s a link to my blog post on it, and a promo of the episode, which I think is hilarious:

I'm not a big fan of CSI Miami but will have to tune in!Congrats!

Honestly, me neither, but this one looks fun.

I honestly don't know why I have never read anything by this author before but I am fixing that right now I am now listening to The Lottery and Other Stories by, Shirley Jackson narrated by, Carol Stewart

I like CSI NY the best!! Congrats Karen!!!!

I honestly don't know why I have never read anything by this auth..."
Shirley Jackson was my favorite author in high school, and We Have Always Lived in the Castle was my favorite book! Thanks for mentioning this because I think I'd love to reread it audibly! I'm glad you liked the narrator!

I'm now starting the audio book Prey by Linda Howard

A little rant about Overdrive I have 5 audiobooks out have listened to them all now I can't get anymore till the due date I wish I could check them back in GRR ....Sorry but I know you all will understand this and feel my pain ;)
I am now listening to Birds of a Feather by,Jacqueline Winspear narrated by, Kim Hicks enjoying both story and narrator!

I started The Pillars of the Earth and so far am loving it!

I started [boo..."
Wow, that really is evidence of the differences in tastes. Ruby Dee is the narrator who hooked me on audiobooks.

I felt that she was being over emotional and I don't care for that style. A contrast would be Night by Elie Wiesel. I didn't listen to the audiobook, but the book was so chillingly devoid of emotion that it really drove the horror of what happened home.

I honestly don't know why I have never read anything by this auth..."
I love The Haunting of Hill House. I bought We Have Always Lived in this Castle but haven't gotten around to reading it. Your review really makes me want to!

I honestly don't know why I have never read anythin..."
Thanks hope you enjoy it!I've heard the sudio of Hill House is really good and narrated by, Bernadette Dunne so will be finding that one on audio!

I'm now starting Sisterhood Everlasting by Ann Brashares

I only listened to the first book with Ari narrating and I agree. I think she negatively impacted my thoughts on the book as a whole.

I'm now starting [book:Sisterhood Everlasting|94618..."
As much as I love the Sisterhood books, I did not like this one.

Usually, that is true, although there have been a few exceptions.

Its reminding me alot of Rose Red but I know this one came out long before Stephen King's book wondering if he just stole alot of the ideas or was paying homage?

I love Tina. Can't wait for 30 Rock to start back up.

this is a really good book and great narration by, David LeDoux,& John Randolph Jones

That is sad. I really loved the print version of that book.

I'm now starting the audio book Daring to Dream by Nora Roberts

Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
So enjoyed listening to #1 again.
Started #1 of 3 audio win Thanks again Karen :)

Mystery Writers of America Presents Death Do Us Part: New Stories about Love, Lust, and MurderHarlan Coben
Narrators include Karen White

Gone 'til November: A Novel by Wallace Stroby

Deadly Descent by Charlotte Hinger
Will listen to these three and then start

Dragonfly in Amber by Diana Gabaldon
This should keep me busy for a few days.

Maggie, I also struggled with this book, and I agree - authors should not do their own audio books. The story has an interesting concept - and there is something that happens in the book that is very odd - I read this one for one of my groups and I will be interested in your thoughts after you finish it.

Also finished The Wake of the Lorelei Lee: Being an Account of the Adventures of Jacky Faber, on her Way to Botany Bay narrated by, the incomparable Kathrine Kellgren I always liked this series but love it even more on audio Katy is so perfect as Jacky I just wish the new book would drop on audible!
I also finished Neil Gaiman and the Twitterverses Hearts, Keys, and Puppetry again narrated by Katherine Kellgren this is the best of two worlds colliding and highly recommend this unique little story!
Now I am starting American Godsby,Neil Gaiman I ended up getting the Full Cast 10th Anniversary edition narrated by,Dennis Boutsikaris, Daniel Oreskes, Ron McLarty, Sarah Jones.
Over on LT we are doing a Neil November group read of anything he's written so will be mentioning more Neil as the month progresses.
