I just started reading this book, Diane! I'm really enjoying it so far! Kate Morton is a great writer!
I also love Canadian author Susanna Kearsley. She is amazing! Her book's are set in Scotland and England, etc. You have got to read "The Winter Sea" if you haven't already. It's fabulous!
The Winter Sea

The most fascinating part of the book is the structure. It goes from past to present day back and forth again. It was neat to read like that.
I have an avid interest in WWII history, which is what drew me to this book (and its rave reviews). It was actually really hard to get into though and that surprised me. I put it down a few times and had to make myself keep going. I expected depressing moments, but the first half had a lot. Just a warning. I did finally get into the book in its second half and the ending was satisfying.

I tried to listen to it but didn't like it. And when I learnt about the end of the book I was definitely put off. A bit too much chick lit for my taste. Nothing wrong with chick lit when you like this gerne. It just wasn't my thing. I didn't like the writing either.

Stolen looks really good. I may read that next year for my Australia pick.

By the way,
I love ATW home page's new background pic (flags of different countries), it's so beautiful, better than the Eiffel Tower ;)

Thank you! I was worried that it might be too busy-looking.

Liked this book and it was an easy read

Here is a cool quote from The Art of Hearing Heartbeats:
"...he did not merely read books but traveled with them, that they took him to other countries and unfamiliar continents, and that with their help he was always getting to know new people, many of whom even became his friends."

I am also reading Surviving Paradise: One Year on a Disappearing Island for the Marshall Islands and Laugh with the Moon for Malawi

I just finished it and really liked it. I definitely want to read Killed at the Whim of a Hat. I just read Bangkok 8 for Thailand, though. I liked it,but not quite as well as Cotterill's book. I am getting ready to start Getting Stoned with Savages: A Trip Through the Islands of Fiji and Vanuatu

I really liked Getting Stoned with Savages - I did the audiobook and Simon Vance the narrator, had it pegged perfectly

He really does. I think he may also have narrated The Sex Lives of Cannibals: Adrift in the Equatorial Pacific.

I love it when narrators sound like they are actually telling the story vs. merely just reading it.

Yay! It i definitely worth the wait! :)
