jarplum Currently, I'm reading What the Night Knows and a book by a self-published author on Amazon called Rick H. Veal named The Master of Whitehall. I especially like the latter because it is a vampire romance. I haven't read those in quite some time.

I just started reading this book, Diane! I'm really enjoying it so far! Kate Morton is a great writer!

I also love Canadian author Susanna Kearsley. She is amazing! Her book's are set in Scotland and England, etc. You have got to read "The Winter Sea" if you haven't already. It's fabulous!

Morgan Smith (writerchic86) | 18 comments I recently finished reading "Sarah's Key" by Tatiana de Rosnay. It involves Jew persecution in France. It's primarily set in Paris, but also features Italy and New York.

The most fascinating part of the book is the structure. It goes from past to present day back and forth again. It was neat to read like that.

I have an avid interest in WWII history, which is what drew me to this book (and its rave reviews). It was actually really hard to get into though and that surprised me. I put it down a few times and had to make myself keep going. I expected depressing moments, but the first half had a lot. Just a warning. I did finally get into the book in its second half and the ending was satisfying.

I tried to listen to it but didn't like it. And when I learnt about the end of the book I was definitely put off. A bit too much chick lit for my taste. Nothing wrong with chick lit when you like this gerne. It just wasn't my thing. I didn't like the writing either.

Here is a cool quote from The Art of Hearing Heartbeats:

I love it when narrators sound like they are actually telling the story vs. merely just reading it.
