I think he'll be great as Jace, I have nothing against him or anything. He'll be perfect for Jace. I wasnt one of those people who wanted Alex to be Jace or I didn't mind.

I was a little disappointed when it was announced but that is because I was seriously pining over Alex, but who knows, there is always going to be disappointment and we'll just have to see how he goes as well as everyone else. (:

I can't picture him as Jace either. I don't think he has that bad-boy look about him. I just think Alex Pettyfer looked the part more.

this guy just needs to bulk up. Jace has a rockin bod, and now this Jamie needs to get one to. If, and oonce, he does, I will be all about him being Jace. No complaints for Clary though. She's gorgeous. Together, they give the right vibe for the feel of the series.

i always pictured alex as jace when i read the books so i cant see him as anyone else. ill have to warch a lot of movies with jamie in to get used to the idea

i like Jamie as Jace and Cassandra already said he started bulking up in her description of his audition, plus the only thing i keep reminding myself is his audition made Cassandra cry

I think Alex is a prefect match but Jamie is also great. they would both do good in this role!

i loved him in camelot and it's his acting talents as well as his face that makes him perfect to play jace...he will look more like when they start filming! i for one think he will do jace proud =D

I wasn't sold until I saw that photo above, and now I'm fully on the Jamie bandwagon, I think he's perfect. He's got the cheeky grin, and the two of them look great together. So, so, so, so so excited for this movie!!!

And unlike most people on this site, I don't like Alex Pettyfer at all for Jace!

My initial thought of "who could play jace" i did automatically think of Alex Pettyfer, but I really like Jamie, and I think he'll be great... he does need to bulk up, but i think he will do great... :)

I keep going back and forth with Jamie. He isn't who I'd pictured and is nowhere near my first choice, but I think he'll do fine with the role. I liked him in Camelot more than others seemed to. As long as they can hide Jamie's teeth and ears, his look isn't too far off. He has some big flaws (not that I'm complaining) that don't match up with the way Jace is described, but movie studios are often able to work magic and downplay shortcomings.

I think Chris Zylka would have made an excellent Jace if he grew his hair longer. He's taller, his face is more in line with Jace's avenging angel look, and he looks good in black.




Ah, but what can we do. The role has been cast already. :p I'll live with Jamie.

i like ale pettyfer as jace best of all, but ive never seen jamie act so what can i say! although i still think alex is the best!

I think that they are reconsidering doing the movie. I went on IMDB and nothing showed up. So I went on Lily Collins page, and Jamie's page. AND IT SAID THAT THEY WEREN'T IN THE PRODUCTION FOR THE CITY OF BONES. Can someone please, please explain?!

"I just wanted to say is that I am so glad that Marlene is meeting with the director and the producers at Constantin. I know lots of rumours have been floating around and I tend to be really quiet, but I want to make sure that when I tell you something, it’s true to the best of my knowledge. The movie industry runs on rumors and innuendo (this is why IMDB is basically useless till a movie goes into production and they lock down the page) and while things can always change, I want to be passing along info that’s as final as things in Hollywood get.
I have a little bit of news that’s exciting — and not even the news I was talking about yesteday! — I will be flying to Los Angeles from Mexico to meet with the new director. I can’t tell you who he is yet, but I’ve talked to him on the phone and he’s had a lot of great insight into the characters, really smart thoughts about the filming, and he had great thoughts about Jace, talking about how he wasn’t just an action hero, he was a layered, complex character with a lot of depth (oh and he has met with Lily and Jamie and he loves them.)
I’m excited he and the producers have made a special point to meet with me, go over concept sketches, talk about the characters and their direction — that doesn’t happen all that often with authors in Hollywood, that we get included that much. However I don’t want to jinx anything, so I’m going to be vague until things are definite. I will keep you updated as much as I can — I know it’s hard to wait; believe me, it’s hard for me, too. I’m actually really glad that we moved on from Screen Gems because things have been proceeding at enormous speed since then and I hope to have some concrete stuff to tell you soon. I honestly love Jamie Campbell Bower as Jace Wayland. He is a fantastic and talented actor and has the attitude and look of Jace. I know some of you TMI fans wanted Alex Pettyfer to play Jace, yes hes hot but he is getting older and can no longer play a teenager. If you have seen the set photos of Jamie as Jace, like me, are gawking over his sexiness as Jace. HES PERFECT! also Lily Collins (Clary) and him are dating so they will have great onscreen chemistry. I am super excited for the movie!! as any big TMI fan would be... By the angel! AUG.23,2012 COME FASTER ALREADY!!

I think alex pettyfer definitely should have been jace but i'm still looking forward to how jamie does it

I totally agree!!! At first i thought alex should play but then realised he was getting too old to play the role as jace infortunately. look froward to the movie

I think that Jamie did a great job... or that's what I saw from the trailer. I am awaiting for the premiere to see if Jamie did a good job or not.

No, I dont think he's the perfect actor for the part, he just seems so....serious, Jace was funny, I really want to see that humor. Also, he spoke in a British accent and I thought Jace from New York...

I am reading the book just now and I know Jamie and Kevin were cast in the movie but for some reason as soon as Jace came on the scene I pictured Kevin. I know now that it's Jamie but I can't stop picturing Kevin. It will probably change when I see the movie though.

I know loads of TMI fans wanted Alex Pettyfer to play Jace but, don't get me wrong I love Alex too, I think Jamie will do such a brilliant job and I think he fits the part perfectly. He's an amazing actor and I really can't wait to see him in the film, I'm sure he's going to be fantastic! :)

I think there are so many other actors better suited for the role of Jace, Alex Pettyfer was beyond a doubt my top pick, and I know he's a little older than Jace but not by much, but also Max Irons or Douglas Booth, but I just don't see Jamie as being "beautiful" or "perfect" or "looks like an angel" and "all gold in color" Nope. My cousin won't even watch the movie because she's so upset with the cast. I will but it won't be the same... :(

Well, I can totally picture him as Jace, but it probably has something to do with the fact that I saw the trailer for the movie before I started reading the books..
