Shirin (shishirin) I'd like to find more books about time travel, preferably on the funny/geeky side and possibly with scifi elements. I'm a massive fan of the tv-series Doctor Who, so any thing along those lines would be perfect. If outer space is included = :D

I've read and very much enjoyed both Slaughterhouse 5 and The Time Traveller's Wife.
I'm not looking for anything like Highlander, in which a person gets dumped in another era and just have to manage thereafter. Instead I want something in which several jumps in time occurs and preferably without too much romance (rather, I'd like that to not be the main focus of the story).
Thanks!

Thomas Wilson (StorytellerTDW) | 7 comments You might try either of my two novels as both include multiple jumps through time. My first book is short barely 50,000 words, my second one is much larger and just e-published it Aug 31st. Both are available as e-book or paperback through Amazon. My favorite is my second one because they are traveling through space and the twists are great. I am currently writing the sequels to both.

Karen | 6 comments A Swiftly Tilting Planet, the third book in the Wrinkle In Time series is all about time travel in a very Doctor Who kind of 'change the past to rewrite the present' kind of way. There are lots of jumps in time, no romance and a tiny bit of outer space.

Christy (christymtidwell) | 149 comments If you haven't already read it, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (the whole series, not just the first book) sounds like what you need.

You could also try reading some of the Doctor Who novels. I haven't read any myself, but they do seem like the next obvious step for more like Doctor Who. :-)

You should check out The Walls of the Universe and Replay. Both of them have sci-fi elements but Walls of the Universe involves more weird aspects.

Shirin (shishirin) Thanks! I'll be sure to check them out.

Aerin Time Travelers Never Die meets your criteria. LOTS of time jumps, plenty of humor.

And if you like short fiction, the collection The Best Time Travel Stories of the 20th Century has plenty of good ones.

I haven't read this, but I believe it is about time travel.

The Egg Said Nothing
fun time travel book

The Strange Affair of Spring Heeled Jack
steampunk, multiple jumps, really fun, lots of historical geeky stuff (scientists etc)

Hannah (harshmallow) | 1 comments Maybe not really on the funny/geeky side of things, but the main in character in Outlander (Diana Gabaldon) keeps getting sent between the modern era and 18th century Scotland.

Ellen (elliearcher) A lot of Connie Willis fits & is wonderfully written & imagined: especially, Blackout, All Clear, Bellwether, and Doomsday Book.

And the books have a nice touch of humor which I find unusual in this genre.
