Okay, I put up the Summer Olympics Mini-Challenge for now and will do my Foreman challenge next.
I also had an idea for a year-long history (fiction & non-fiction) challenge which involves reading books about different time periods up to the end of the 19th century (so it won't coincide with the Century of Good Reads challenge) - what do you think? :)

I think that's a great idea Denise! I set up the folder this morning for the team challenge. I've laid the groundwork out & locked the discussion down. I'm fixing to send out a mass e-mail for sign ups.

Have you guys seen the response for the team challenge? We've got s lot of people signed up already and the thread has only been open since late this am! :D

I have been up in the Kansas City Area with my cousin all day so I haven't been all that productive today but I'm heading back tomorrow afternoon and I plan on finishing up all my loose ends!

I may need some help with the You Want Me to Read What? challenge for September. The hubby leaves mid month on his 6 month deployment. More than likely I won't be spending much time in front of the computer. If any of you can help, I'll greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Jennifer, I seriously don't know how you do it...My fiance is moving 3 hours away (he's leaving tonight...boo!) and we are only going to be living apart for around a month, PLUS he'll be back every weekend and I'm freaking out! I'm seriously not a happy camper...so I can't even imagine how you must be feeling right now!

With that being said the fiance is leaving tonight so I will have a lot more time on my hands for the next month so I can help however you need and I will make sure to do the general maintenance and try and keep things running smoothly...

Absence really does make the heart grow fonder. You learn to appreciate the little things when you have frequent separations. Flirting via email is fun. :) You learn how to survive. It's not anything I recommend to anyone.

Kansas City is a fun town. That's the hubby's hometown. Most of his family lives there. The library is awesome (all 10 branches).

I'll let you both know when things get to the point I can't handle it. It'll mainly be the YWMTRW? challenge. It requires daily checkups.

Yeah we used Facetime last night for the first time and it was fun:-) It still sucks though! You are so my hero...

Yeah I have had family in KC my entire life so I have been up there quite a bit...it's fun, it's just not somewhere I was planning on living...but it's only a year and my favorite cousin is up there so that will be a lot of fun!

And yeah just let us know and we will get on it!

I'm going to finish the Mod Responsibilities but it prob won't be done till Monday, the fiance is coming into town and we have his bestfriends wedding events, and all of my Bridesmaids for our wedding will be in town so we are going dress shopping... We postponed the wedding but everyone was already coming in so I figured why not! So I'll be pretty busy but next week I will go back to having lots of time on my hands!

I'll have to see if Facetime works internationally. We were planning to Skype but it's not very reliable.

I need help coming up with 12 categories of books...like autobiographies, history, special interest, business and finance, health and living, fiction, self improvement, etc...any ideas?

What about graphic novels?

I'll set up a fall quarterly challenge around the first of September if nobody else has one in the works. Shell do you want to do creature feature in September or do you want me to? I'm good either way :)

Jenne If it's not to much work can you do Creature feature again?

Jennifer how about Classics? or Bestsellers? Are you trying to stay away from fiction?

I can't decide if I want a broad range that includes everything or just nonfiction. I'm leaning towards all nonfiction. 12 different categories for 12 months. I have some of them on the 12 cats challenge on my google docs. I'll get around to finishing it/fixing it sometime this week. Hopefully.

Not a problem I'll do the creature feature. :)

I have quick question for you guys I'm going to send out a bi monthly "newsletter" (I kind of do already) for TCF just to let them know when our new monthly challenges are up and what's new things like that and I didn't know what to call it. any suggestions?

Also I have been trying to figure out a method for the Mod Responsibilities and I think I'm keeping it easy and straight forward...I'm watching my niece this week but she sleeps most the day (knock on wood! lol) so I'm going to use this week to get caught back up!

And don't worry so much over the Words w/ Friends challenge, Jenne, I think it looks great so far and the instructions seem pretty clear. I'm definitely looking forward to it. :)

I completely re-did my Foreman challenge just now since I just wasn't happy with it before. Tomorrow I'll put up the history challenge I mentioned earlier, so it'll be open before September. :)

Lol I didn't get many bites on my foreman challenge either. Which is a shame IMO cuz that series is the best. Lol

I guess that might have been due to the fact that we started them in the middle of the month, though - many people probably already had so many books to read for different challenges this month that they just couldn't fit anything else. (Happened to me, at least. :) )

And of course my niece was a perfect baby today and I was sick as a dog! lol so I got nothing done that I wanted to:(

I will make sure to add the Forman Challenge to the Factory Report when I send it out tomorrow...is there anything else that you guys want in there besides the regular monthly challenges? Any new challenges that are going up?

I'm just now putting the finishing touches on that year-long history challenge, it'll be up later today. Would be great if you could put that in the Report as well. :)

We have the scavenger hunt kicking off sept. 1st (you might have already mentioned it though)

I think in the past we have done Seasonal in the Odds and Ends! And I will make sure to add it to the mid month Factory Report:) I will get the others that you mentioned Denise as well as the Scavenger Hunt. It will prob not go out till Sunday so if you think of anything else just let me know!

Alrighty I'll put it in the odds n ends folder. Does anyone have any ideas for cute names for the levels? I was thinking thanksgiving food like apple pie for easy gravy for medium and turkey for hard. But that doesn't really say a difference in difficulty.

Yes jennifer you do plenty here and right now you should be enjoying time with your family before he has to leave...I'm telling you, I go a week without my fiance and I'm going nuts, you are amazing at what you do, what your whole family has to do! So (like Jenne said) take all the time you need...and we will be here when you get back:)

Hey guys quick question. Autumn I guess got deleted? She set up the Whatever the Weather Challenge so now all of her comments have been wiped out. Should one of us totally revamp it?

Huh. I hadn't even noticed until you mentioned it. O.o Any idea if maybe she deleted herself accidentally and might be coming back? XD Otherwise it would be a shame for that challenge to "go to waste", I really like the idea. We could probably manage to put it back together from the comments? I think some at least had the complete categories listed.

I'm really behind in everything for the group (and others) this month, I have had a few personal things happen this week so I'm trying to play a little catch up!!!

Hey ladies. I was getting ready to send out the Factory Report and I was going to add some info on the Facebook page and I got to thinking that it would be fun to run a little contest for getting to 100 likes (we are 49 now) on the FB page! What do you guys think? It might be a good tool to keep people that use FB posted and interested in the group and the challenges?

Sounds like a good idea, Shell! The FB page could really use a bit more exposure, so a contest might be just the thing. Lots of TCF members are probably on FB and might not even know about the FB page.

Yea that is a good idea. Hey I was going to ask y'all too if anyone wants to fix/recreate Autumn's weather challenge please feel free to do so. I'm not sure I can this week I'm working out the kinks on words with friends. I think I may have made it too easy lol! It may come down to who finished first in the end.

I can re-do the weather challenge, got time this afternoon. :) Put up a new thread, recreate the rules & categories post and ask people to move their lists over there, right? Like Shell did with the Attack of your TBR challenge?

Denise that would be great if you could do that, and yeah just do it like I did the Attack of your TBR challenge.

As far as the Contest I have a couple of paperbacks they could choose from, or I could let them choose from an ebook (10$ or less) from whatever ereader sight they use. Also their are a lot of authors that will give out swag (bookmarks and such) so I might try and track that down...if you girls have any suggestions that would be great.

As far as Twitter I set up our Challenge Factory FB page to post straight to Twitter...so if we make a post it shows up on both. You girls are more than welcome to sighn in to twitter if you have something to post for a group...like a new challenge or just post it through the FB Page. Denise and Jenne, did Jennifer make you Admins? We should all be able to post on both. I would love to use it as a way to let our members know whats up!
