Mandie McGlynn (mcmandie) | 4 comments The tooltip for adding the title of a book still recommends putting the series in parenthesis following the title. However, with the addition of the "series" section of the book info page, this seems redundant and, I think, clutters up the book title somewhat. Can this be updated?

Deborah | 390 comments Not yet. The series information still doesn't show everywhere or show up in searches. You don't have to enter the series information if you don't want to, but please don't remove it if it's already there.

Mandie McGlynn (mcmandie) | 4 comments Well now I've added it and deleted it again so as not to be redundant. Bah!

Vicky (librovert) | 2462 comments Even though the series section is on the book page, the series is not included in the searchable data unless it is also included in the book title.

So, for example, if all the "(Song of Ice and Fire, #X)" information was removed from the titles of all books in the series, a user could not find it by searching for "Song of Ice and Fire."

The series data also doesn't show up in the my books list if you remove it from the title. Someone removed all the Song of Ice and Fire information from the titles of my editions of the books, and when I went to search for them in my books the other day, only two came up. :(

ETA: Like Deborah said, you don't have to add it but please don't delete it!

Deborah | 390 comments You can probably go to the librarian log and click on undo, if you want to change it back.

Mandie McGlynn (mcmandie) | 4 comments Ok good to know! The series I'm working with isn't officially named, but as it's instructional, they do need to be read in a certain order. The publisher sells them in sets as I've named the series, so hopefully that's an appropriate use of the series field! :)
