Mis_Reading (tenoko1) What are the most recent books added to your collection, whether bought, traded, or library books?

Actually, at the end of the day yesterday- which was quite bad indeed- I ended up at the bookstore to de-stress. While there I saw two books I really wanted -- Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern -- but put aside in the hopes I will get them for Christmas.

What I did get were either in theme with the upcoming Spook-themed month, or ones I had wanted and managed to find on sale.
The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman Leviathan (Leviathan #1) by Scott Westerfeld White Cat (Curse Workers, #1) by Holly Black Sakura Hime The Legend of Princess Sakura, Volume 1 by Arina Tanemura Stardust by Neil Gaiman

I'm very excited to start reading them. What about you? What have you recently procured?

Lil | 216 comments Just did my absolute favorite type of shopping yesterday...library book sale!!! I love the no holds barred approach that you can take when books are two quarters each!

Picked up two Chris Bohjahlian books, Moo by Jane Smiley, Bombadiers by Po Bronson, couple romances by an author I'd been meaning to check out, couple Bob the Builder books for my son.

Shadow Song: Shadow Song by Terry Kay, The Children's Hospital , Pretty Little Liars and another spare copy of Bridget Jones's Diary.

Yay!

Mis_Reading (tenoko1) So it was my off day and I decided to make a run by two used bookstores- one of which i hated, because seriously, their rules on trades and store credit as too complicated to the point that while I have tons of store credit, I have never gotten to use any of it. If the book is likely to sell well even though it's older or anything 'popular' like Harry Potter, you can't use store credit, nor can you use it on literary classics, recent arrivals, or books that aren't in the same genre of books you brought it. It irritates the fire out of me.

/rant

But I still found some great finds, three at the bookstore I like, and several at the bookstore i hate because i can't ever use my store redit.
River of Blue Fire (Otherland, #2) by Tad Williams Mountain of Black Glass (Otherland, #3) by Tad Williams Sea of Silver Light (Otherland, #4) by Tad Williams The War of the Flowers by Tad Williams Wizard's First Rule (Sword of Truth, #1) by Terry Goodkind The Black Swan (Fairy Tales, #2) by Mercedes Lackey Faerie Wars (Faerie Wars, #1) by Herbie Brennan A Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire #1) by George R.R. Martin Nightshade by Andrea Cremer

And I think that's it. I swear these books will take up a whole shelf just by themselves. The Tad Williams ones are all around 800 pgs. A couple were grabbed as Christmas presents.
