message 51: by Erika (new)

Erika (livingforthebooks) It happens a lot because of school and distractions in my home. Plus we have to read other books for school.
I try to read at night right before I go to bed or during study hall because I never get anything done there anyway

message 52: by Christina (new)

Christina (bookcrussh) | 41 comments Always. Primarily because of school.

message 53: by Emily (new)

Emily | 3 comments That is the story of my life :P silly school always getting in the way

message 54: by Nataly (new)

Nataly (natalyreads) | 490 comments I thought school was getting in the way of my reading, but then I had Winter Break for two and half weeks and I only read ONE book. While in school, they give us time to just read, at home, I may have a lot of free time, but I use it to be online and reading isn't a priority. When I want to read though, that's when I never have time-_-

message 55: by Skye (new)

Skye | 1 comments I would like to know of a person who likes to read and feels they have enough time, cause i dont see how its possible=)
i LOVE reading so much i read in the BATH, CAR, WHILE EATING, WHENEVER!!!
I'm certain there are tons of crazzy places to read, IF you had the TIME
I dont=)

Simcsa Skye wrote: "I would like to know of a person who likes to read and feels they have enough time, cause i dont see how its possible=)"

It's not possible because there are so many great books that even reading non-stop we can't read them all. What's good about it is that we'll never run out of reading material. :)

I feel your pain. I was reading some of the comments and felt like an old lady. I have my husband, two dogs, my job and a new business. I can't seems to find the time anymore to read more then a hour a day if i am lucky.

message 58: by Megan (new)

Megan Ayres I have a big pile of books to read and they're lasting so much longer than they would have when I was in the younger years of school, but now I'm in sixth form college I don't always have time. But I end up reading first thing in the morning and last thing at night, and all sorts of weird times throughout the day so it's not so bad. If anything the feeling of wanting to read encourages me to get on with my work quicker, and makes me love reading more because its become a getaway. :)

message 59: by Maya (new)

Maya (mayaadorkable) | 33 comments my second semester of college is going to start and i know i will feel i dont have time to read which is going to be horrible because i love reading. some how im going to have to make some time for reading

message 60: by J. (new)

J. Bralick (jleighbralick) | 3 comments Ugh. My problem finding time to read started in college and then never stopped. Now most of my time is spent writing and presumably marketing (though I'm so totally awful at that, it's not funny!), and working a "real" job on top of it. I went through a few months when I didn't read anything new and I felt like I was suffocating. x.x

message 61: by Lori (new)

Lori Strongin | 21 comments It unfortunately doesn't get better even when you're out of school, reading-time wise. That's when you start with a full time job (or two or three) and family obligations and errands (like food shopping or getting you oil changed), not to mention all the chores you need to do once you've moved out on your own.

Sometimes, I long for the days of school and living at home, only because I had waaaaay more reading time back then! ;)

message 62: by Vanya D. (new)

Vanya D. (vanya_drum) | 5 comments Do I EVER feel like I don't have enough time?? I don't know how to answer this question. I've got 800 books on my TBR list......... draw your own conclusions LOL

@J.Leigh I totally understand you. I have a full-time job, a husband, college and writing, and reading is just on top of all that LOL

message 63: by Lucinda (new)

Lucinda | 18 comments I'm in my second year of university and sometimes it's hard to make time to read. When I've got an essay to start writing that's when I just long for a book, because they always distract me.

message 64: by Vanya D. (new)

Vanya D. (vanya_drum) | 5 comments What Lucinda said :)

message 65: by Erika (new)

Erika Tamblin (ETamblin) | 1 comments I always feel that way, that's why I rad short stories. I feel accomplished when I am done, but I can read them while I wait for my kids to get out of school.

message 66: by Sam (new)

Sam K Yup! But I try to read whenever I have free time or feel like a good book would cheer me up.

message 67: by Danniella (new)

Danniella Duff (danniellathepaganwitch) | 7 comments All the time. I feel like a social Calender with not a lot of time to myself. Gonna get some reading in tonight though. Or atleast try

message 68: by Me (new)

Me (inactiveaccount) YES. i never have time:/ i read at school when they give us time but its so not enough. i need my daily dosage of at least 35 if im lucky... hopefully ill have time to read at least 5 pages during the weekend if im not working on hw

message 70: by Me (new)

Me (inactiveaccount) its also taking me longer to read books because i dont have time and i end up a week late on a book

yyeah..agreed.

A.Roma 🇵🇸 (man-u4kb) | 87 comments I stay up till 2am to read cuz i dont get time in the morning! got a stupid busy life! 'sigh'

message 73: by Vicky (new)

Vicky (backpackfullofadventures) I feel like that all the time :( The thing is, I go to uni AND work part time so I'm quite busy most of the time. But I always try to read in the evening :)

message 74: by hadia (new)

hadia (hadzz-bookeater) | 6 comments All the time. School -.-

message 75: by Sherri (new)

Sherri Moorer (sherrithewriter) Yes, absolutely and it's painful because I love to read but have so little time to do it! My life is way too busy.

message 76: by Abigail (new)

Abigail (boydbooks) | 1 comments All the time! Because I have a bad habit of not being able to put a book down, and having to read it cover to cover. And I never have that kind of time anymore...there are so many books that I want to read but I know I'll never get to them all.

Sandee is Reading (sandeeisreading) i do because i work nights and my work is taking too much of my reading hours.

message 78: by £mily (new)

£mily (3mily991) | 257 comments I love reading, and there never sems enough time to do it! I read on cartrips, even though I get a headache, but it's worth it! I also read secretly under the covers at night.
I don't really buy real new books, though I love bookstores and always get dirty looks thrown at me from the shop keeper because I read the first page of a book and can't stop! I go to the library, and have a look at the old discarded books for 10c there. I also buy heaps of ebooks, because they are a lot cheaper.

message 79: by Katrina (new)

Katrina Welsh (katrinawelsh_) I usually feel like that. but at the moment, no. I am currently on my holidays and it'll be another week before i have to do anything important.

message 80: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (book_whisperer) All the time except for this holidays... i don't have any work to do but i could study if i prefer. Damn school! actually damn the HSC! My last year of high school... exams... it stresses me out. I only have i week left till school is back. I won't have time to read a lot like i use to. I could choose to read but i want a good Atar, preferably 85+ atar. Seriously i better not get below that.

message 81: by Ashley (new)

Ashley (twinmomstl) I never read through college because I always felt guilty, like I should be studying instead!

message 82: by Natalie (new)

Natalie (emonerddragon) | 2 comments UGH!!! I feel just the same way. The semester is almost over so I have finals coming up which means more homework, more study time and less relaxation time for books. I also want to graduate college, get my degree and my license as quickly as possible so I'm taking 10 units more or less per semester and 4 to 6 units per summer. God needs to add more hours in the day. lol.

message 83: by Cindy (new)

Cindy | 4 comments Yeah totally feel like there is not enough time to do everything and still have time to read for fun :(
STORY OF OUR LIVES

Diamond (kindle lover) (quirkysecrets) | 25 comments yes :(

I used to balance college and reading so that it did not hinder academics. But now I'm glad, i graduated last year and free of the need to balance stuff.

Share your wisdom please! :D I wish I knew how to balance school, relaxation for books and a social life.

Double agree!!! The HSC is just a pain, school in 2 days and I've only had time to read 3 books and re-read some short-stories. *sigh.
I can't wait till the HSC is over. <3 ノ ̄ー ̄)ノ

message 89: by Sherri (new)

Sherri Moorer (sherrithewriter) Yes, absolutely. With publishing my latest book, a job with a very full meeting schedule, and a big volunteer project coming up at church there are way too many "dots" on my iPhone schedule. Goodreads keeps reminding me to report on the progress I'm making reading "Red Mars," and I'm ashamed to say there's been none because every minute of my life is full. Hopefully, things will settle soon when the legislative session ends and this volunteer project at church wraps up May 5.

message 90: by K.A. (new)

K.A. Poe (kapoe) | 9 comments That is how I practically always feel right now. Most of my time is dedicated to my eighteen month old and writing my own books that I seldom have time to read lately :( That and I haven't found a book that really grips my attention in a while.

message 91: by Helene (new)

Helene (helene23) | 2 comments All the time. My TBR pile scares me a little, and I'm dying to read most of them. And I want to read them right now! One day I will have read them all:)

message 92: by [deleted user] (new)

I hate it! I really just want to read EVERYTHING and my timing is so bad.... I just want to read haaha

message 93: by Mara (new)

Mara (maraanne) I always feel like I never have enough time. This school quarter seems to especially cut into my reading time. I only have one class, but it's Microbiology, which is a demanding class, and I have to spend all day at the college, and this is the quarter where all of my friends magically have break the same time I do, so I never get a chance to just plug in to some Mozart and read for a while. . . . It's sad.

message 94: by David (new)

David Estes (davidestesbooks) | 350 comments I'm with you there! It makes me sad that I feel like there are so many books I want to read and I can never quite get to all of them. I just really want to support all the amazing writers out there, if I just had the time! If I had the time, I'd read a book a day, that's how much I love books!

message 95: by Isabella (new)

Isabella (isabellaamaris) | 1 comments I hear you guys; it sucks when you just wanna curl up with a book and escape - only reality calls! Wish there were more hours in the day but somehow I don't think that would help lol Man, I just wanna get lost in a book knowing for once that I'll have the time to finish it!:)

message 96: by Victoria (new)

Victoria Strong (victoriastrong) Wow...I feel really old here. I don't have time because I'm a wife and stay-at-home mom to 5 kids ages 7 years to 7 weeks...there's not enough time in the day for anything!

message 97: by [deleted user] (new)

I feel like this all the time. I read before bed and before work if I can. I have noticed that since joining goodreads it has made me make an effort to up my game game because so many people on here read SO much! So that's good, but sometimes I think of all the books I want to read on the planet, how many years I am likely to actually be alive, and then realise there is no way I am going to get through them all! Not unless I turn into a husbandless, friendless, jobless, hermit! even then, it would still be hard going!

The hard fact is, there are more awesome books in the world than my eyeballs can take!

message 98: by Steffi (new)

Steffi Definitely! I haven't read in months. But the holidays are really close so I'm totally gonna get stuck into some good books ;)

Um, all the time! I read loottts and loootttssss but it never seems like enough.

message 100: by Iva-Marie (new)

Iva-Marie Palmer (ivamarie) | 3 comments Me, too, Layla! Always nodding off... I guess I'm way too busy but I try to squeeze in some reading whenever I can.
