Jane (PS) | 24334 comments Welcome Jodi! Only a week or so before the thread opens for the 'Pick It For Me - September'...

...There will be a few clarifying rules for the next PIFM, so make sure you read them, and ask the mods or hostess if you aren't sure :) It's a lot of fun!

message 62: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Jones (lisareneejones) | 2 comments HI I'm new here. I'm an author and a book addict. I really love audible books because they get me through cardio! I adore Holter Graham who reads a lot of Kenyon's books. My next release is IF I WERE YOU which I call my Shades of Grey meets Basic Instincts and its the first release I think I have ever been a nervous wreck over because its special in all kinds of way to me If I Were You

For one thing its inspired by a journal my DH and I found in a storage unit while he was buying and selling storage units long before the shows like Storage Wars ever existed. He decided I HAD to write a story inspired by it and bugged me forever to do it until I did.

Favorite authors include Karen Monings, Kenyon. Lori Foster. I read all over the board and love it. Oh Briggs! I love Patricia Briggs. Yummy Adam! Sigh...

message 63: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments Welcome Lisa - it's great to have you join our group :)

You've given me a new narrator - I haven't listened to any of Kenyon's work in audio yet. Thanks!

Good luck with your new release!

message 64: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Jones (lisareneejones) | 2 comments You won't be sorry you tried Holter! He can read me anything and make me swoon!: ) And thanks for the welcome

message 65: by Mary (new)

Mary Gorman (MaryGorman) Hi! I'm Mary and I'm brand new here. I'll read pretty much anything, but am particularly fond of romances. I just realized a dream come true last week with the publication of my first novel, a romantic comedy about a guy who uses romance novels as guidebooks in how to win the girl of his dreams. It's called Love's Little Instruction Book. I'm really looking forward to being here and seeing what other people recommend!

message 66: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments Welcome Mary! So pleased you joined our group :)

Congratulations on the publication of your book - Love's Little Instruction Book by Mary Gorman ! You must be pretty excited. Sounds like a really fun read :) Our Authors Promotions area is here. We'd love you to interact with the members however you feel most comfortable. :)

Hope you will have fun interacting with our members, both as a reader and as an author.

message 68: by Julie (new)

Julie (juliehinz) Hi everyone,

I'm Julie, and I'm new to the group, but not to Goodreads. I started reading romances 2-3 years ago, and I immediately wondered why I didn't start sooner!

I'm very much looking forward to participating in some challenges. I already joined the PIFM for September!

message 69: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments Welcome Julie! I'm pleased you've already jumped into the PIFM :) This is a great way to start chatting with the members and get some fab recommendations along the way! ...Just make sure you read those rules - we've had some confusion over the last couple of months, as you may have picked up on the thread :)

message 71: by Mary (new)

Mary Gorman (MaryGorman) Thank you! I'm still new to Goodreads, but is seems like a friendly place to "hang out!"

message 73: by Barbra (new)

Barbra Hi I'm Barbra. 31 yr old mother of one, caregiver for a living and lover of books. I've in the past been more into paranormal but about a month ago I read the 50 shades books and ever since have just been reading one romance novel after another. A little bit hooked now lol

Dee (austhokie) | 7316 comments hi Derick - welcome to the group - the place for Author Promotions is Here

message 75: by Angela (new)

Angela (lala75) | 54 comments Hi! Joined goodreads ages ago - and have recently come back! This seems to be a great group and already love the games - probably because I'm quite nosey! Love romance and paranormal books - any that I don't really have to concentrate too hard with and can lose myself in x

message 76: by Juanita (new)

Juanita M. (eternalsnshine) Hi, my name is Juanita. I was looking for a fun and interesting group to join; one that shared my love for romance novels.

message 77: by Kayla (new)

Kayla (ohkaykatt) | 2 comments Hi! My name is Kayla. I'm 19 years old and reside in southwest Texas. Oh boy, what can I say, reading is my first love. Back when everyone dreaded reading in school, I was always the one with the big grin on her face. I'm one who doesn't care too much about talking in person about books in fear that she'll run people off. So, instead, I discuss them.

message 78: by PepperP0t (new)

PepperP0t welcome Derick, Barbra, Angela, Juanita & Kayla, its gret to have you all. Just jump in the threads and join the conversations.

Hi Barbra! Welcome to the group :) It's amazing how one little book can change your perception on a genre - Fifty Shades has opened a LOT of eyes. Literally! :)

Welcome to the group, Angela! I'm exactly the same - I don't like to read anything too serious. Reading for me is all about relaxation and forgetting about the bad things in the world! And I'm glad you've found the games section - there's always someone lurking in there...

Welcome Juanita - great to have you on board! You've come to the right place if you want to chat about romance novels :) Drop into the What are you reading? thread for some extra ideas.

Welcome Kayla :) LOL - I'm sure you wouldn't scare them off - but at least here, you know you are chatting with similar-minded people! :)

Amber .:★Wild Heart Reviews★:. (amberlu) | 7 comments Hi, I'm Amber. I'm 28 and I live in the southeastern corner of Oklahoma. I've had a passion for reading since a very young age. I love romance novels as a first choice but will much consume anything I can get my hands on. I don't discuss them much due to having no one that I know personally have an actual love for reading like I do. Glad to be here, can't wait to see/try some of the reading challenges and have fun doing something I enjoy!

Trip (shardsofromance) | 2210 comments Hey, thought I should introduce myself.
Well I pretty much joined to try out some of the reading challenges and maybe find some other romance books to read considering they are my favourite.
Although a little fantasy and others are great too.
Hope we can get along :) ~

Welcome Amber! I don't have anyone at home to talk about romance novels either - but there is always someone here to here to chat to, day and night! You can't go wrong :) And jump in anytime with the challenges. Only the monthly Pick It For Me (PIFM) has the deadline for sign-up (which you have just missed!). Enjoy!

Welcome to the group, Laura :) There are heaps of us that straddle a number of different genres but with romance being one of our main 'loves' - any genre is suitable for the challenges unless it expressly specifies otherwise. You'll be bound to pick up some great books along the way!

message 89: by Alexandra (new)

Alexandra Sykakis | 1 comments Hi I joined because I love to read I have over 250 books loaded in my kindle since September 2011 and have just recently started listening to Audible for the long trips t work. I'll read all day if I could My Fav for this month is Molly Harper (if you like a book that can make you laugh out loud in parts then she is the lady for you. I have no idea what to read next so any suggestions would be great.

message 90: by Jane (PS), Moderator (last edited Sep 13, 2012 03:25PM) (new)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments Hi Alexandra! Welcome to our group. I'm a bit like you - hundreds of books waiting for me to read, including audiobooks. I often drive over 12 hours each week, so I tend to motor through audiobooks - and I love how they relax me in the car, without distracting me.

My best suggestion on what to read next is to join the monthly challenge. By working your reading around the available categories, you'll find your books pick themselves! You can start at any time of the month, but it does close on the last day of the month :)

Next month's Pick It For Me (PIFM) will open in a week or so - that is a great tool for receiving at least 8 books recs; generally a balance of some that you own, and some that aren't on your TBR list.

Happy reading!

message 91: by PepperP0t (new)

message 92: by Beth (new)

Beth Snyder | 1 comments Hi everyone :) I'm Beth, and I absolutely love romances. I'm new to reading challenges but want to try it out, seems like fun!

message 93: by Kaniac (new)

Kaniac | 28 comments Hello I'm Anna you can call me that or Kaniac cause if there are two things I am obsessed with its reading and Christian Kane. I'm new here to the group and Goodreads. Didn't know this site was here and am finding I absolutely love it. I am still working on marking the books I have read but as I seem to always be reading something new it has been a little bit of a trial lol.

Have a good day

message 94: by PepperP0t (new)

PepperP0t Hi Beth & Kaniac, grat to have you both.

message 95: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments Welcome to the group Beth and Anna :) There are heaps of challenges to 'dip your toes in' - feel free to ask any of us for rec's or how things work! We'd love to help you out.

message 96: by Kalliopeia (new)

Kalliopeia *Scratches head.* I joined this group a while ago but never actually did anything until now. I joined because I thought this group would give some insight as to what romance books are good. I love books (obviously), especially science fiction and fantasy, with romance as a sideline (usually).

message 97: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments The best way to find good romance book rec's, Kalliopeia, is to chat with the other members - generally through the challenges, checking out other ppl's lists, making comments or straight out asking them if they enjoyed a particular book on their list... The 'What Are You Reading' thread at the top of the discussion board, hosted by Vi, has an open opportunity to ask and comment :)

This strategy will also help you identify members who have similar reading taste to you, thereby increasing your chance of a good book rec :)

Good luck!

message 98: by Nicole (new)

Nicole | 13 comments Helloo... I'm Nicole and I'm soo happy to see other romance/fantasy readers!! I just finished Love Unrehearsed (Love, #2) by Tina Reber . I'm in love with that book and looking for another to add to my list of favorites!!

message 99: by Christelle (new)

Christelle (angel85qcca) Hi! I just joined here today, looking for recommendations for a specific theme, but I thought I'd introduce myself first! I'm French-Canadian and addicted to romance novels. I read everything from sweet to spicy, the only genre I'm not really into is paranormal. Feel free to send me a friend request if you'd like!

message 100: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)
