Hi Ross - welcome to the group :) We chat about books within the various threads generally. There is a thread where members post books that they have read recently which sometimes generates some chat (2019 January February March What Are You Reading? but otherwise the buddy reads are probably where most of the chat happens. You'd just need to find someone else interested in reading a particular book with you :)

Hi Karen - glad you joined us! Sounds like you read a lot of the same stuff that we do. And I know what you mean about time-travel books ~ they seem to have disappeared as a popular option for writers. Perhaps overload from Outlander? I used to love Karen Marie Moning's 'Highlander' books!

That series finished with Into the Dreaming which I bought in an anthology ~ Tapestry :D That was when I still read paperbacks!! LOL - so long ago.

Yesterday we were with family all day, got home pretty late. Today is catching up and relaxing - watching the snow fall - sideways...

Hi I'm Diane from Canada and I'm new. Love reading, especially romance, so much so that I've written four romance novels (only one published to date: Scorned) but still read three novels/week, usually. Just getting my feet wet with challenges etc. and hope to make new friends.
My favourites authors are Elin Hilderbrand, Luanne Rice, but still love the old faithfuls: Nora Roberts, Jude Devereaux and Danielle Steel (although I've eased off Ms. Steel. I think she's a little past her best before date re: quality of her latest work.)

Hi, my name is Leila and I'm from Canada but living in the USA. My go-to genre is romance and I happened to come across this group. I'm not new to Goodreads, not a blogger, just an avid reader. Always looking to make some friends here on Goodreads with the same taste in reading, and I'm always looking for the next book to read (even though I will never ever get through my TBR shelf!) The challenges sound like fun, which one would you suggest starting for a newbie challenger such as myself?

There are plenty of challenges to try however I started with one of the monthly challenges and then branched out from there. It'll let you take your time checking everything out whilst you see what goes on :)

The only one in that folder that has a deadline is the Pick It For Me challenge. The April one should be posted soon but you only have a few days to sign up before it closes. Check out the March challenge (closed to new participants) if you like the idea of giving and receiving book recommendations :D

Hey! I'm Laura, I pretty much live on romance books but i like a lot of fantasy and adventure as well. Anything that contains a bit of romance I'm ussually down for. I've not used this site much in past few years as been more occupied with fanfiction then books however I've got a long TBR list and want to get back into this year. Challenges definitely help motivate me as well 😄
