I'm finally starting to roll out of my holiday mode (which started on 13 Dec ;) and check the threads a bit more. Bring on 2025! 🥳

But I hear this is a great place to start and get feedback, I would love to share PDF’s or snippets for feedback.
Have a great week.

Margie - great you have jumped into the Meet & Greet Challenge! Hope you love it as much as I do :)
Eleanor - hope you find a place here that suits your level of involvement and interest. There's plenty to choose from, some are challenges you work through on your own, but we also have some team challenges to join in.

I've opened this account in 2023 but only this January started seriously reading again and keeping track of my books. I work as an economics researcher and reading romance recently has been my way to destress and relax.
My favorite romance subgenres are contemporary and historical but I've also been gravitating towards mafia, mc, and sports. Recently, I am exploring romantasy and I've discovered a lot of books that I've added to my TBR.
I am active on GR and love getting recommendations. Also looking forward to meeting new bookish friends.

Hey Michelle - you will definitely fit in! We have a very broad romance reader base, with readers covering pretty much every romance genre you can think of! Because the challenges are so broad, readers are rarely trapped into a specific genre ~ so everything goes :)

Welcome zsyree! I totally understand the stress element - nothing beats getting away from it all with a good (low stress) book! Enjoy trawling those shelves ~ and jump into the challenges as that is such a great way to get to know others :)

I'm Holly, and I'm relatively new to Good Reads. I love romance, adventure, and mystery books.
I'm the only one in my family who likes to read.
I moved to Florida in the last three years and have not made any friends other than my book collection LOL

I'm just getting into finding groups related to book recommendations.
I've been on Good Reads for years and am now just figuring out how to actually use this app to my advantage
l'm always looking for the "couldn't put it down" books
My TBR lists increase daily and my library requests end up being ridiculously long

Please ask questions in any of the threads - there is generally someone around to answer questions, particularly in the challenge threads ;)

Good luck! Hope you find some good books and fun challenges within our group :)

If anyone read Till Summer Do Us Part. It hit me in this feels
In the the right places that I had to hope to find group that’s got more recs like that :)

I’m Emiko and I just self-published my very first short story on Kindle.
It’s called “The Red Scarf I Forgot to Return”, and honestly… I still can’t believe I clicked “publish.” I’ve been writing in notebooks and phone notes for years, too scared to show anyone. This is the first story I ever completed and gave to the world even though I felt small while doing it.
It’s a soft, poetic winter romance. The kind where:
a boy falls in love through shared books and candy rituals,
a girl leaves without a goodbye but forgets her red scarf,
and 10 winters later, love returns with daffodils.
It's quiet. It's slow. It’s not dramatic or spicy just gentle, like warm tea ☕ and soft snow.
I don’t have a following. I don’t know how to market.
I just know that this story was my way of healing something, and I’m hoping someone out there might find warmth in it too.

The story’s around 43 pages long.
If you do give it a try, I’d be grateful beyond words if you could leave a short, honest review on Amazon. Even a line. It means the world to new authors like me who are just starting.
And if you didn’t enjoy it — thank you still, for giving a nobody a chance. I’m still learning, and I’d love to improve.
With love and a hopeful heart,
– Emiko
Maybe you’ve never left a scarf behind.
But if you’ve ever left a piece of yourself with someone… quietly, gently, without knowing if they’d keep it .....
Then maybe this story is already yours......
And maybe, just maybe,
it’s been waiting for you too. 🧣✨❤

I just wanted to share something I’ve been working on—my new blog, Nanda’s Little Library! 📚✨ It’s a cozy corner where I post my personal thoughts on the books I’m reading, beyond just the ratings I leave on Goodreads. I talk about the moments that made me laugh, cry, or stay up way too late turning pages, and I even have a playful emoji-filled rating system to show how each book made me feel.
If you love discovering new reads, chatting about favorite characters, or just peeking into someone else’s reading journey, I’d love for you to check it out and follow along!

I'm always on the lookout for book recs, so I'm excited to see what people are reading.
My current read: House of Flame and Shadow by Sarah J. Maas.
