As I go on with this interesting book, I discover that Pi explains that animals are fiercely territorial and defensive. And shifts into "omega animals" which are obedient creatures who are loyal and truthful to their masters.
Later on in the book, Pi says he was born into Hinduism and describes Prasad a Hindu offering to God. Also describes the Hindu philosophy which is "That witch sustains the universe beyond thought and language, and that which is at the core of us and struggles for expression, is the same thing"
