Has anyone checked to see if the books are actually there?

Some sites will list just about everything, but when you actually hit the download, you end up with jibberish and a socially transmitted disease for your computer.

Yeah. It does seem to say it will download anything you type in. Like "frog poo kung foo" in multiple formats. lol. I won't join up as a member to test any of it I think.

Now why didn't I think to type in "frog poo kung foo". I could have saved myself so much angst!

Well, you never know with these things. This one might be harvesting personal details or something. might have a bigger play with it later.

Thing is you never know with these sites. The mobibookz website is one where all the books on it are available in .mobi file. You have to register too to download books, all highly illegal. Came across the website here on a thread somewhere as well as on the Amazon Kindle forums a while back.

My blog gets hits from Russia and China - I'm afraid they are finding people from it.

That looks like a harvest job, without any actual books.

There is however a thriving market in pirated books. Here someone is openly advertising for PDFs of named Andrew McCoy novels:
