I have one fiancee, two other jobs, and three teenage sons, so I'm often asked, "When do you find time to write?"
The answer, of course, is "Whenever I can!"
When I'm working on a book, sometimes I get up at 5 a.m. to grab a few minutes before the kids wake up. Sometimes I catch a few minutes in between assignments at my day job. With my other responsibilities, I'm afraid I'm not able to have a set writing routine (which flies in the face of most writing advice). But that is my situation, and until and unless I am able to sell enough books to warrant leaving one of my other jobs, that's what I must do to support my family.
But, I must write. It's that simple. Even when I'm exhausted from jobs and kids and so on, I need my time to produce the pages. Sometimes it is excruciating...I might write a page in a week. Other times it's exhilarating...I might write 25 pages in a day. So it goes. But I keep at it, because I know I have to write.
