The Nate Gatsby (macenro) I've always found it strange that a good number of people on here don't talk to other members about the books they are reading. I thought it might be fun/helpful to start a post for people who like to be social on GoodReads.

So if you are one of those people that ask others about the book they are reading and try to be active and have fun on GoodReads, then post here so we can all friend each other.

[Edit]

Here is a group for anyone who feel the same about being active on GoodReads.

Great minds think alike. LOL!

The Nate Gatsby (macenro) I just find it odd when someone asked to be my friend and then when I ask them if a book is good or not they ignore me...

I guess it is just something that irks me. I was hoping if I added some people who replied (or they add me) then it won't happen as much.

P.S. I am looking for someone to read/discuss books with if anyone is interest.

I love to read and don't mind sharing my views on what I read. I participate with BOM and other group challenges when I can.

You can add me I try to always respond although sometimes my notifications don't work but as long as I see a comment I always respond and I usually comment about what I'm reading daily.

I depends on the world your crafting. What kinds of things no longer exist or hard to come by in the story your crafting?

If that's the case there are plenty of drugs that have survived the test of time. I'm no drug expert, but a lot depend on certain crops. So if there isn't a shortage of food, maybe you can use drugs that are in existence today. Otherwise, make one from scratch. It's your world. Just make your readers believe.

The 2 books series I have been meaning to read are:

1) A Game of Thrones - George Martin
2) The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - Douglas Adams

So if anyone wanted to join me in reading one of them that would be cool. But I'll read something someone else want to read too.

I do want to read a Game of Thrones. I have a couple of books I'm reading this week. But I'm a fast reader and can catch up to the discussion once I can get to it.

Linda (lindacee) | 261 comments I've got to find it somewhere, but I've been wanting to read "A Game of Thrones" as well!

message 14: by Shannon (new)

Shannon Dermott (shannondermott) | 438 comments We should see if there is a buddy reads thread in this group. If so, we can start a thread with this book and set a start date to read.

The Nate Gatsby (macenro) Well I will probably be starting "A Game of Thrones" later this week.

In the meantime I was thinking of starting a group...maybe calling it Active GoodReaders...or something of the sort. That way we could have our discussion there and get more people.

The Nate Gatsby (macenro) Also, if you join make sure to invite all your other really active friends.

@Nathan I love the show Game of Thrones and really want to try the books but they are super long so I won't be able to start them anytime too soon because I have a bunch of group reads and library books to get through. I read the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy a long time ago and it was good!

message 22: by Pj (new)

Pj (pbookbuddy) this is such a good idea! im reading White Cat (Curse Workers, #1) by Holly Black , kinda good so far, i only got it for like 4 bucks so if its bad it wont be too much money out of my pocket

A.Roma 🇵🇸 (man-u4kb) | 87 comments Im reading The Pale Assassin (Pimpernelles, #1) by Patricia Elliott its good, i like the fact that everybody can read it, teenagers, adults and kids!

Musings on Living (musingsonliving) | 1 comments Maybe if a couple of us are reading the same books we can start a separate group read?

Does anyone have Sugarsync? Have a look at my books and check if there are any you would like to read along with me. :-)
