The author of the Bower's Files. Here's a place to discuss the works of Steven James and talk about what's good about his books.

I just finished Queen, and I have to say, I love the suspence thriller aspect of things, but the way James works in these almost magical stories of healing, faith, what it means to be happy, are compelling. I know the messages would not be as strong without the mystery and suspense story along with it to put things in context, but I almost like those messages more than the thiller stuff. It is one of those things that makes him unique. Not that he works in such things, but that he's so good at it, and they always hit me when I need them most.

The Bower's Files (all five books) are great reading. I think "The Queen" (his last in the series) is the best yet.

I've really enjoyed the first two Bower books and I've got the third on deck. I was a bit wary about reading the first as sometimes Christian authors try to shove their message down your throat, but James really has a deft touch.

I can't wait to read the rest of them.

I plan to get a copy of the first in this series soon.

I hadn't realized he was a Christian Author. I rarely read about the authors. Maybe I should more often. I went to his blog and websites and he's a very Christian Author.

He's like, Ted Dekker (Red, White and Black trilogy). He more explains things through analogy and the experiences of the characters than preaches. I like that.

I like the message because it could be helpful even if your not a christian, or not as devout (strict?) in your believes. To me that makes it more of a "Spiritual" message.

I love the way his complex mystery, thriller plot thread mirrors the day to day life issues and questions of his main characters. It's just well done.

Even if you weren't into something spiritual or a "Christian Message" he's so subtle, or at least so non-pushy, that anyone could enjoy this book for the exciting chase the murder story.
