Libby Just finished DEAD SLEEP by Greg Isles. Really kept my interest, and I thought his rendering of a female protagonist was pretty dead-on. B+.

I heartily concur. I'm actually more of a Charlotte Brontë fan--Jane Eyre is my favorite bo..."

My favorite Brontë book is either Jane Eyre or Anne Brontë's Agnes Grey but I've never had the chance to read Shirley by Charlotte and would really like to.

Katz Nancy from NJ (nancyk18) I am in the middle of Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins. I find the pages of this book turning themselves. While I didn't much enjoy The Hunger Games I found this book much better. Will be curious to see what I think about Mockingjay.

About quarter of a way through The Columbus Affair by Steve Berry . Not bad, so far.

message 393: by Lisa (new)

Lisa James (sthwnd) I am reading 2 classics, Madame Bovary, by Gustave Flaubert, & The Tin Drum, by Gunter Grass, & started a free read, The Spice Necklace by Amy Vanderhoof. The last one my husband won for something during Nurses' Week (he's a critical care/trauma RN). He flipped through it & said, well, it has recipes, which works, even though it's really a "chick lit" book. So far I'm finding the story itself to be quite entertaining, & the couple of recipes I've looked at look delicious, since we both enjoy Caribbean cooking, so it's a double win!

Best wishes, Stephen Livingston.

message 399: by Tay (new)

Tay | 37 comments I just finishedMidnight Rambler byJames Swain . All I can say is wow! I read another book out of order and it was great so I started this one which is the first in the series and love it. Jack Carpenter reminds me a lot of Harry Bosch the way he's does what it takes to bring justice to baddies. Not quite Jack Reacher level but it does make you root for Jack Carpenter. I'm picking up the second book in the series today.

message 400: by Aoibhínn (new)

Aoibhínn (aoibhinn) I've just finished reading White Oleander by Janet Fitch and I'm about to start The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks.
