(I'm thinking of starting to read Agaat earlier otherwise there's no way I can manage... just ask Marieke, I'm forever behind group reads... hehe)

So, it's Jan & Feb 2012 @ Great African Reads for those who want to read Agaat by Marlene van Niekerk with us!

Do we have two months to read the book? Jan and Feb?"
Yes.... Because it's loooong...and runs concurrently with Tour d'Afrique and some GAR members will want to read for both activities. Me being one of them lol. :)

Yay! Now lemme check what your initial SA selection was... :D

Is this an early Halloween trick?

You mean people in this group change their selections? (tongue firmly planted in cheek:-)"
Lol. There are just too many good choices. I will probably read both but list one. I will have to change Turkey as well. I already started that book. Overly anxious.

That is very true. But look at it this way: you (we) might help someone else looking for a book from some country. ;)

Agaat is featured at Great African Reads. It's my #1 Book-of-the-Week. Btw, I'm a participant.
Who's reading Wild Swans?

And Kay, please do join us at Great African Reads if you would like. :)
...but are we discussing here and there? I have no problem discussing in two places. Goodreads has already pushed me beyond crazy.

I should start a new topic for "Wild Swans" to put it in the Calendar.

...Janice already made one!

Oh, alright. No problem. I am just trying to organize my January group reads and freaking out because there are so many to read. Happy New Year! :)

anyway, i set up the Agaat thread in the Africa group here. Feel free to post your thoughts any time. we are pretty casual in that group. :D

Can the location for Agaat Group Read be edited into Janice's message 1?

I know. Thankfully I'm not relying on library books. If I did, I would rather pay the fine than return it unfinished. ;)

Kimberly-if you want to join the discussion at the Africa group it will probably be most active in January and possibly February. But we keep our threads open over there so you can rejuvenate the discussion if you aren't able to read it shortly. It's really no problem to join in "late."

Sorry. I wasn't paying attention. I've edited the first message to point to the location of discussion.

LOL! *whispers*.. Shhhh, don't tell anyone, but I have to admit that I don't read every thread on this group. It's too busy to keep up with them all. Since I'm not reading Agaat, I haven't been following this thread.
