Kristen Harvey | 511 comments That's true. It's hard to reread just one book in a series y'know...

message 52: by Meme (new)

Meme (mstylp) | 519 comments yes once I start in on the books you can forget about the house because it is so important to get this read LOL

message 53: by Kristen (new)

Kristen Harvey | 511 comments Yes, and I know I'm going to have to clean this weekend when I really just want to finish Curse of Chalion. I'm about 100 pages into it and starting to really enjoy it. I also need to start reading something else from my bookshelf too.

Meme (mstylp) | 519 comments Ive only got to chapter 5 so I'm still struggling a little it seems good but it is going slow for me right now

message 55: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (micnandec) I just noticed I never introduced myself here! ::blushes:: that's embarrassing. I'm Michelle, but my lazy butt usually just writes "Mic" when I'm online (I pronounce it "Mick" BTW). I'm a librarian in a public library. Currently, I moved back in with my parents for financial reasons. I really hate it there and try my best to stay sane. I live in FL but I really want to move out of this state and explore the world. That's not going very well though...

message 56: by Sanzida (new)

Sanzida | 15 comments I'm sure that its not that bad...or may be it is.
P.S Books are great getaways (but I guess you know that) for when you have "financial reasons" (I'm in this boat) or simply underage (I am also in this boat =D).

Books, music and knitting: thats what helps me get through the day.

Reema | 142 comments Hi everyone

My name is Reema and im 25 from the UK. I joined up as i am a huge fan of Maria and have now read every book! I'm anxiously waiting for Sea Glass and i can't wait. Thanks for letting me be part of this wonderful group. x

Welcome, Reema! The group is a little quiet right now (a lot of US students have finals in the next week or two--I know I do) but I'm sure in no time someone will pipe up and remind me to announce the June Monthly reading group title or some such nonsense ^_^

And if you ever need a book suggestion, just post and wait a few seconds--recommendations will fly at you like malcontented fairies!

Reema | 142 comments Thanks so much.
I have just finished a book which was amazing (The Graceling by Kristin Cashore) and have started a new one which i wouldn't normally read but some one recommended it and im not too impressed so far. Its The Outcast by Sadie Jones, so if you or anyone has read it can you let me know if it goes anywhere or if there is a point to it, otherwise i might just stop reading it and read the Study books again!

message 61: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (literarymiss) | 3 comments Hey everyone.

My name is Elizabeth(Liz, Lizzie, whatever lol). I'm 20 years old, and live in Hawaii with my husband and our 6 month old baby boy.
I LOVE to read, and read, and read.(poor hubby doesn't understand it, but he's learned to just leave me be haha).

I first picked up Poison Study in our library book sale room...soft cover for $.50...so I bought it, took it home, and read it in one night. Then I read it again. Then I loaned it to a friend. Then I read it again. :)
THen I found out that there was another book, called Magic Study. Promptly checked it out and read it.

Needless to say, I've been a fan since I first picked up the book. I recently read Storm Glass, and I can't wait for Sea Glass.

See ya'll around!
Elizabeth

message 62: by Sara (new)

Sara | 3 comments Hi everyone! My name is Sara, I'm 26 and live in St. Louis Missouri. I read any spare moment I have and like Elizabeth, my husband does not understand my obsession but has learned to live with it. :)

I'm a huge fan of the Study series and didn't notice there was a group formed until today so I'm super excited to join!

Unfortunately I'm still waiting on my library to get Storm Glass in so I haven't read it yet, but I'm sure it will be just as fantastic as the Study series so I can't wait!

Hi, "Elizabeth(Liz, Lizzie, whatever lol" ^_^ hehe

and Sara! Welcome. Stay tuned because we like to hold contests from time to time, and check out Maria's website (http://www.mariavsnyder.com) for updates, contests (usually involving free copies of her books!) and pre-release buzz!

We've been a little bit dormant the past few weeks (lots of people with finals, graduations, vacations, etc.) but once we're on, we're on Fire!

Speaking of Fire, go look for the "Chance to Win" thread--Maria's hubby had the bright idea to grab an extra advance copy of Kristen Cashore's Fire... what a smart man she married :)

message 64: by Shley (new)

Shley | 18 comments Hi! I'm an Ashley too. Just joined 'good reads' after Maria V. Snyder reccomended it to me on her myspace. (No idea if it was really her, but it was awesome just the same!)

Well, I'm 24 and love the Harry Potters... they are my favourite... I live in England... and I am just about to go sit an exam, so I best be off. But I look forward to chatting on here, and making new friends.
Ashley (shley - thats my nick name!)

Hi Shley!

Yes, that was really her--you can "friend" her and everything! She has a great do-it-yourself ethic ^_^ kind of like Yelena.

I hope you like it here, Study Buddies is my favorite group (but I'm biased, you must know ^_^)

Hello Alethea!

I thought it might be, but you never can tell with the internet can you!

Ive been looking for aaaages to find somewhere to talk about the Study Series, and now I have a place! *is happy*

I was amazed that I actually got a response, let alone one that was signed from her! And it was prompt. She must be a nice lady.

Look forward to getting to know you all. :)

Jennifer (javallone23) | 11 comments Hello All!

My name is Jennifer. I am currently a 7th grade Science and Social Studies Teacher. I love to read..especially young adult books! Usually, once I start a book, I can't put it down or go to sleep until I'm finished (well only on the really good books-like the Study Trilogy :-)). Can't wait to get started! :-)

message 68: by Kristen (new)

Kristen Harvey | 511 comments Welcome Jennifer! I work in an elementary school library, but love YA!

Hi Jennifer!

The most recent books to keep me awake through the night were The Name of the Wind, The Fetch, and The Weight of Silence. And I'm reading Shiver right now.

Feel free to discuss even on the cold topics (next to each discussion folder you can click "view all" to see older topics) and of course you can always start your own discussion thread.

Welcome!

ஐ Katya (Book Queen)ஐ (katyabookqueen) I'm Kate. I'm a single mother of 3 boys in Nebraska. Maria told me about the group here. I've read and love the Study series. I have the Glass series but have been nervous to start it. My son was sent Poison Study by Teen Harlequin and it looked so good I went online to buy used copies of Magic/Fire Study. (Can't find them locally). He was also very recently sent an ebook advanced reader's copy of Inside Out by Teen Harlequin.

Kelley (shewolf0316) | 5 comments Hi all. Especially Maria! I just joined this group tonight after finding it through Maria's updates in here. I love the Study books and the Glass books. Need to start Inside Out as soon as I finish my current review book I'm reading.

Hi Jennifer!

Welcome. You'll see Maria lurking on here now and then. When she's not on deadline, she's great at answering questions--you can post them in the Ask Maria folder.

:D
