Karen A. Wyle (kawyle) | 81 comments Well, my rollout of TWIN-BRED has started! The book is up on Smashwords for $2.99. (I'm waiting to hear if it's made the Premium Distribution Catalog.) I can finally say I have published a book! :-) And it only took me 46 years (I first remember wanting to be a published novelist at age 10)....

I've done the formatting for Kindle Direct Publishing and PubIt!, but I'm waiting a few days to see if I hear from more of my early reviewers before I publish on those sites. If anyone is willing to do a review in the next week or so, please contact me for a Smashwords coupon code.

Les | 5 comments Congrats and enjoy the ride. Did you follow the Smashwords style guide to the 't' with your formatting? You should ahve no problems then. My novel, The Pack, was picked up and sent to the other channels with no issues. Took about a week for it to all go through.

Karen A. Wyle (kawyle) | 81 comments I actually paid someone to do the formatting. It wasn't a perfect job - I had to do some cleanup. It took about 3 tries to get through AutoVetter, although it's possible my cleanup attempts were responsible for some of that.... I don't fully understand the difference between making it through AutoVetter and making it to the Premium Distribution Catalogue, even after looking at the Smashwords Guide.

To tell the truth, I've never had a problem getting through Smashwords' AutoVetter. There have been a few times where it was rejected for something or other. The first was I still had a linked Table of Contents in there. It hated that. Then the last time was one of the chapter title fonts was too big. I reduced that and it worked just fine.

Now, however, it's just sitting in there with "Pending Approval" in the status. I think I heard somewhere that they were a little backlogged in getting books approved for the Premium Catalog. So, without anything else I can do, I have to sit on my hands. :)
