Beth Hi everyone,
Like Michael, I'm a local author who just discovered this group--via a friend request from Becca, who is a member. I split my time between Colorado Springs and Breckenridge, and I write two mystery series for Midnight Ink: the Claire Hanover gift basket designer series and the Rocky Mountain Outdoor Adventure series starring whitewater river ranger Mandy Tanner. You can all find out more by checking out my author page here on Goodreads.

If you'd like to enter a contest for free mystery books, sign up for my email newsletter at: http://bethgroundwater.com/
Also, I'm running a Goodreads giveaway at: http://www.goodreads.com/giveaway/sho...
I'll be starting up my Q&A group in November again, if you'd like to join and ask me questions there:
http://www.goodreads.com/group/show/1...
And, I'll be doing some signings in the Colorado Springs area in November, if you'd like to chat in person. See the Appearances page of my website or the Events section of my Goodreads author page for information.

Happy reading! Beth Groundwater

Lisa Bergren (lisabergren) | 1 comments Hello, gang! I'm a local author here in the Springs, and my latest books are from the River of Time Series (Waterfall, Cascade and Torrent), which a lot of adult women seem to like too. I've written over 40 books--my next series from local publisher, David C. Cook begins to release in June 2012 (Glamorous Illusions). I'm in the middle of writing that right now!

You can visit me at my site, http://www.lisabergren.com or on Twitter (@LisaTBergren)...I love hearing from readers!

Donita (donitakpaul) | 2 comments I'm Donita K. Paul when I am not Kathleen Paul or Donita Kathleen Paul. I have books under all those names. I live in Colorado Springs. The first thing we did when we visited Colo Spgs before we even moved here was to go by the PPLD and get our library cards. We had to use a friend's address. That was almost 20 years ago.
Donita K. Paul writes fantasy. Two series which meld together are the Dragon Keeper Chronicles and the Chronicles of Chiril. My daughter and I wrote two picture books The Dragon and the Turtle and the Dragon and the Turtle on Safari. We often have a contest running on www.dragonandturtle.com. Check it out.
You can also see what is going on at www.donitakpaul.com.
We run a jewelry store from that site as well.
For Christmas, the novella, Two Tickets to the Christmas Ball is still available. And something new in our publishing experience is a Christian Romance as an e-book. This is Taming the Wild Wind.
I hope your life is filled with good books, good people, and the love of God.
I do Twitter, Shoutlife, and Facebook. I love to interact with readers, the cream of the crop of your day-to-day, average citizen. *big smile*

Shelly Wright (shellygoodmanwright) | 9 comments I moved to Colorado the year of the October blizzard in 97, but it didn't scare me away. Just about six years ago, I decided to follow my passion for writing.

My first novel launched June 19, 2012 and already it has made it's way on many Best Christian fiction lists on Goodreads. It also won a spot in Seattle's Powell's bookstore "Puddly Awards" top 25 list! And you may have seen the TV trailer airing on ABC Family, Hallmark, and Lifetime.

Twisted Roots is a Christian, romance, suspense novel, with a fantasy twist. You can purchase it from just about any book store, but I find Amazon has the best prices.

A.F. Alexander | 1 comments Hello there everyone,

I am a native of Colorado Springs and have seen this town change over the years. Hard to believe that Powers used to be a dirt road!

The book I wrote is a bit controversial, but necessary non-the-less. It is carried by the PPLD as well.

Religious Right: The Greatest Threat to Democracy published in April 2012.

Here is a review from LibraryThing:
"If you are not familiar with this topic, it's a gold mine of information. Besides a detailed overview of the intentions and methods of the right to torpedo the separation of church and state, and turn the US into a country ruled by Biblical principles only, there is a large bibliography of books that the reader can access for more information."

And an endorsement:
"Every freedom loving American should read this book. A.F. Alexander lays out the facts as only an insider could, and they are startling. Christian Dominionism represents a clear and present danger to our democracy, and this book tells you what each of us can do to protect the Liberty we all hold so dear." Jason Childs, founder of the Center for Progress in Alabama, Liberty University graduate, and former evangelical Baptist pastor.

Thank you for this opportunity to introduce myself.

M.j. Brett (wwwmjbrettcom) | 3 comments Hi fellow authors and readers: I'm Margaret Brettschneider, writing historical fiction based on true stories under the name M.J. Brett. After working as a teacher in Europe for 21 years, we retired in Colorado Springs and love taking advantage of the great hiking and skiing.
Nine novels have kept me busy, and I'm currently researching a new one on PTSD. "Mutti's War" is from WWII, a mother trying to save her three sons. "Shadows on an Iron Curtain" comes from seven years on the infamous Border between east and west Germany. "Between Duty and Devotion" is a military commander's toughest choice. "Street Smart on a Dead End" is of the change in dynamics brought by a 12-year-old drug-addicted gang member into a family trying to help her. "Mama Told Me Not to Come" is the comedic adventures of two ditzy, accident-prone teachers traveling through Europe and the Middle East.
"I Think I Can, I Think I Can" is the tale of a 3-year-old abandoned and crippled child growing up with big dreams--maybe too big. "Dancing in the Wind" follows a spicy 92-year-old as she negotiates with her 'sandwich generation' relatives. "Stand Silent, Stand Free" goes back to the prejudices of the 1800's frontier against those with handicaps when a young deaf-mute boy refuses to be hidden away. And "Truth Lies Six Foot Under" investigates a cold-case, un-solved murder mystery whose names and location must remain secret.
I hope some of you will want to visit my website at www.mjbrett.com to learn more about the books. I'd love to chat with you.

Marie Loerzel | 1 comments Hi I'm Marie and I just published a memoir called Rock the Kasbah: A Memoir of Misadventure that's carried by ppld. It's been described as a sort of a gritty, sardonic Eat, Pray, Love 20 years of marriage and 4 kids later. The story starts in Colorado Springs right before we leave for 2 and a half years with the Peace Corps in Africa. We had no idea what was in store for us. Come for the humor, stay for the misadventure.

Shelly Wright (shellygoodmanwright) | 9 comments Just signed my fourth contract for my last novel in the TWISTED ROOTS saga, Legacy. Expected release will be 2016...that is if everything goes according to plan. lol. Just curious if any of the authors here run writing groups for youth. I started one last year, but my location is south. I'm willing to start another group, possibly at a library (currently it's at my church on Wednesdays at 4:15). Or at least pass along the info for youth who can't make my group. My email is swright011699 at msn if you'd rather message me. FB is Writer-Shelly Goodman-Wright if you want to find me there. :-)

Michael Noss | 1 comments Greetings! I'm a first-time author who just became officially published! It's a fantasy story about a human girl, descended from dragons, who must now bridge both worlds, and is available in both paperback and Kindle formats on Amazon, or from my website www.dragon-born.com. Really psyched, and already planning the sequel!

Joshua Grant | 4 comments Hey everyone! I'm Joshua Grant, a brand new author. I just published my horror book Pandora. I've had quite an adventurous life in my short 30 years, having survived a flash flood, encountered several bears, and sailed the ocean blue, but mostly I just love spending time with people.

All of my books will go to support a meaningful cause. Pandora helps fund ocean exploration and it's my dream to get enough money to build a deep sea craft.

I also love to support other indie authors. I have a space on my website where authors can potentially boost sales and gain exposure. If anyone's interested in that or about me, head to www.diabolicshrimp.com

Happy to meet everyone!
