Posy | 4 comments Hi Everyone,
I am new to this, please treat me kindly. I am looking for a book I read a very long time ago, but I cant remember the title or author.

The book is either regency or historical clean romance. The two protagonist find themselves at a inn and must share a room, they are not married they were just traveling, separately I think. I remember that the heroine placed folded sheets in the middle of the bed to preserve the boundaries of each others side. In the middle of the night something occurs and they are discovered together. Now the part that I remember the most is that I think this takes place in Scotland because there is a "law" or something that if two people are discovered sleeping together they are automatically married. For the sake of keeping her reputation intact they decided to go along with it until they can resolve this.
The story goes on to where they travel to London, and she resides with him. He is an important figure because parties are held and she must play hostess. There also begins a rumor that she is pregnant, but they actually have never shared a bed after the incident.

I cant really remember much after this but I really liked the story. I would really appreciate any help.

Nanci | 62 comments I am not sure but that sounds to me like a book I read years ago by Amanda Scott. It is one of her books from the early nineties or late 80's is my guess. I don't know the title but from what I remember, there are books that come after that are about relatives of the two after they are happily married and living part-time in England because he is some sort of English Lord who also has land in Scotland? Does that sound right? It seems to me that they find themselves together and when they are discovered he tells the man they are married and she doesn't contradict him and so because of Scottish law, they are married. If that is what you are thinking of, I think Amanda Scott is the author. Possibly Highland Fling or Highland Secrets?

I checked through all of Amanda Scotts titles and did not find the book I am looking for. I'm not sure either whether it has sequels of the relatives, but I am very sure that the title did not have Highland in it. Thank you so much for your help!

Sorry I couldn't help. If you do figure it out, let me know the title. It sounds interesting.

Serena Casey (serenacasey) | 14 comments It sounds familiar to me, too, but I'm terrible at remembering authors or names of books.

Oops, posted too fast. Meant to include this page with a list of resources where you can search for books:

This is so awesome, I had no idea google had the advanced book search. I will look through the other websites to see if anything comes up.

What frustrates me is that I had the opportunity to purchase this book not so long ago but passed the chance.

Thanks for the website, I went to it and found it frustrating, I'll try to remember as much as I can to narrow my search. I do remember that the title had either "lightning", "storm", or "thunder".
