jeanie lepore (jylepore) | 32 comments Hi,
Like most of you i go through paranormal reads like candy. Unfortunately keeping them all straight can be confusing at best.

I need you help identifying a series Iwas reading a few years ago. I remember that it was about a group of warriors who lived together in a compound. The one book in the series I remember the best was about one of the warriors who's face was scarred in a blast because he was betrayed by his mate. He then got rid of her. I know also that they can have children and that when one of them dies they take them out into the sun at dawn and hold a ceremony.
If anyone thinks this may sound familiar please let me know.

MelissaB (melissaann) | 16 comments I like the series, I think of them of sort of BDB-lite. The characters are enjoyable and the action is good.

new_user | 1389 comments Melissa, that's how I would characterize it too, very lite, LOL. That premise sounds much better than the books were, imo.

Gina (ginrobi) | 137 comments Lara Adrian's Midnight Breed sounds like it. But so does J.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood. Jylepore, do you remember anything else from what you had read? It may help identify which series...

Definitely Lara Adrian's Midnight Breed series. The scarred one you described is Rio, whose mate betrayed him.

And in the first book, Lucan, performed the ceremony you mentioned, getting exposed to the sun in honor of their dead.

With out doubt it is Lara Adrian's Midnight Breed series. Rio is the one with the scar and Eva his mate betrayed. Did you know there is a new book in the series due for release on 12/31/08. It's called "Veil of Midnight"
