Karen A. Wyle (kawyle) I've been working on converting my science fiction novel Twin-Bred to a large print paperback, and am wondering if I'm wasting my time. SF fans may be the most likely to embrace ebooks as their eyesight grows worse. . . . Any thoughts?

Contrarius I can't speak for the masses, but I for one find the customizability of ebooks to be very appealing. I crank the font size way up, and then I can read through a book easily and quickly. OTOH, it may still be true that folks who are of an age to profit from large print are also of an age to be less likely to use computers in the first place, and of an age to be more attached to dead tree books in general. Perhaps some market research is needed here....

Genia Lukin As someone who uses libraries for the blind (large print, audio, etc') as well as reads normal print and ebooks, I can throw my two cents in and say that the populace which truly needs large print - visually impaired and so on - usually does not find the magnification on Kindles, ebooks and iPads sufficient for its purposes. If your intent is to reach the population that requires large print as a matter of accessibility, I'd say it's worth considering in addition to ebooks.
