I finished reading that about two days ago, and yeah,I do agree that it's a great book. Though I did get bored in the 200 pages..I guess it's a bit draggy and Lauren Oliver spent too much time describing everything. But,other than that, everything was cool. The premise behind the plot was very interesting and risky, buy Lauren Oliver did good. but alexxxxxxxxx, oh god whyyyyyy :(

Oh cool. Well, everybody says it's the best book in 2011. It's pretty cheap, don't ya think? o_o

message 607: by Karina (new)

Karina Kantas I haven't read UNEARTHLY yet. I have Hush Hush on my Kindle is it that bad?

Janine, if you haven't read Discovery of Witches yet, you HAVE to. It's my fav book of 2011

message 608: by Alejandra (Allie) (last edited Jan 21, 2012 08:27AM) (new)

Alejandra (Allie) (lost_at_hogwarts) I've been thinking about Unearthly since pretty much everyone I'm friends with on Goodreads says it's amazing. Why they would put it so cheap in ebook format I do not know, but I'm glad for that. 99 cents for one of the best books in 2011 is a pretty good deal and I'm going to make sure I get it on my Kindle Fire before Hallowed comes out. Why? Because when Hallowed comes out Unearthly is going to rise in price. This happened with Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side. Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side used to be FREE until about 2 weeks ago the sequel came out. Once the sequel came out Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side was no longer free and you now have to pay about 7 dollars for the book in ebook format when it used to be FREE! So buy your copy of Unearthly now for 99 cents before it's too late!

Hush, Hush isn't bad. It's just unoriginal. It's basically every paranormal romance cliche put together in one book. But it's not like I expected anything else when I first bought it.

They sell them for so cheap because they are new authors that are not well known and they want people to buy their books. People are more willing to pay .99 for a book from an author they haven't read before than $5 or $6 or more. It helps them get their name out. Usually the sequels will cost more.

A lot of times new authors will even give their first books away for free just so people will read them and tell their friends how awesome they are :)

But I love Twilight. Hush, hush is like a poor imitation of Twilight. (really) First few pages and boom, I'm knocked out. But I guess it depends on the person.

I didn't love Twilight, I don't love Hush Hush. I think in some ways Hush Hush does imitate Twilight. But I like Patch more than Edward/Jacob. Like you said it depends on the person...

Karina Kantas Are Hush Hush and UNEARTHLY part of a series? Are they the first books?

Why do most new authors now write in a series? I would love to read an awesome book and not have to wait for a sequel.

I can't understand why everyone is jumping on the Twilight band wagon. Can't writers come up with anything original anymore.

Yes, Hush,Hush and Unearthly are part of a series. If you do want a book that doesn't have a sequel then I suggest you read this:

Eden by Keary Taylor

It's a dysopian novel. Though I haven't read it, the reviews are reassuring.

I think it's really good, but that depends on what you like. If you're going to be reading this book for Chinese culture you won't find much of it in this book. On the other hand, if you're interested in a Dystopia type of book then this will probably be the book for you. I'm loving it so far and it's the second best Dystopia book I've ever read (Divergent by Veronica Roth will always be first in my heart).

I do recommend this book to anyone looking for a new and refreshing read.
