Thanks for the quick response. This is my first Kindle book, and I assumed that, like CreateSpace, it would give you the option to create a coupon. No such luck! If you have any idea how to go about it, I'd really appreciate your help! In the meantime, I'll keep working on it!
If you would prefer to get the book through Smashwords (Mobi format is available), you can use the coupon code: MW55T.
Random Ramblings of a Raving Redhead.

You have to gift it or something from amazon, but I've never done it so I can't tell you how to do it. By the way I cheated a little and checked out the sample on amazon. I'll save my opinion for the review. Oh the suspense!
But like I said smashwords is fine.
Okay I have it. I'll let you know once I have the review posted.

Dana, to give your Kindle ebook as a gift on Amazon, you actually have to buy a copy to give it to the other person. You log into Amazon, go to the page for your Kindle book, then click "Give as a gift" (it's on the top right).
You need the recipient's email address. Just follow the instructions, and Amazon will charge you and directly email the recipient a link to the ebook. They can then download it. I hope that helps!

BTW, I downloaded the sample from Amazon, and I think you write very well. I'd offer to review it but I'm a very scattered reader, and don't often finish a book, no matter how good it is. But I think your writing is clear, and I like your devotions about God's love and promises.

Trust me, I understand as I write too. I like it most days but others it just drives me crazy.

Dana, when I've given copies of my Kindle book as a gift, I had to do each one individually. So you need to go through the process each time - log in, go to your book page, and click "Give as a gift." Then enter the email address of the recipient, and you'll be charged. It doesn't take long, but you do have to do it individually. You can't buy one and give it to lots of people.
If you want to know if people have downloaded the book (I think you'll be charged whether they do or not) go to "Your Account" then click "View your digital orders." It will show a list of your digital purchases, and show whether the person has downloaded the book.
If you want to give away a lot of copies, you could email the Kindle file you've created directly to people, if you have this. It saves you buying it and gifting it through Amazon. It just means the file won't have the protection from copying (DRM) provided by Amazon.
Thanks, Mona

Whatever the case, thank you for your help. I knew someone would have the answer!

If you can get past the rather arcane requirements to get your book uploaded to Smashwords, you can gift from there for free, if I recall correctly.
On Kindle, you can always set your price at 99 cents for a few days and gift it to your reviewers at that price. (and you'll get 35 cents of that back come royalty time).

Thanks, C.L., for reading my book and posting a review. I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Ever since writing that book, I've been more aware of looking for lessons in everyday events. It's been eye-opening for me! Thanks again! I really appreciate your help and the feedback.
