Fave type of plot in a book/movie: romance, mystery, suspense, other

message 298: by Kathleen (last edited Feb 20, 2009 09:40AM) (new)

Kathleen Burket (kathleengigicompany) | 20125 comments Mod
Anything not boring. For me, boring would be some over the top, angst filled book with deep themes. I had to read so much like that in college and graduate school, what I read for fun needs to be warm, wonderful, preferably positive, or least a positive outcome in the end. Hence, I avoid most general fiction (but not all) and love the genres of romance, science fiction, fantasy, and mysteries. Even mysteries with a dead body or two falling out of a closet in the beginning are okay if there is a postive resolution. I also read quite a bit of nonfiction on a wide range of subjects.

Same question for the next person posting: Fave type of plot in a book: romance, science fiction, fantasy, mystery, suspense, horror, or other

message 299: by Colleen (new)

Colleen (colleenct1) | 1537 comments I love horror, for some reason I loved to be scard by things that are not real. Even though I read true crime (my mom's favorite) I can't read too many in a row they make me depressed. Give me a good vampire, werewolf, or ghost story and I will be very happy.

Is it love at first sight or lust at first sight?

message 300: by Kathleen (last edited Feb 20, 2009 05:57PM) (new)

Kathleen Burket (kathleengigicompany) | 20125 comments Mod
Honestly, I believe people who go nuts over someone that they see for the first time are actually in lust at first sight. IMO love takes time to nurture and grow.

Take-out: Chinese or Italian
