Great reference book reading discussion

Maybe its a fetish but i love to see those signs of wear and tear on a book I have gone back to many times. One of my most used was "The Iron Man" by Ted Hughes. which i have taken on the road with me as an itinerant music teacher. Like so many Faber books fell apart too easily and I had to throw it away in the end. By which time i had memorised the story well enough to recite it unaided: much more effective of course.

I would say the I Ching is the book I have returned to the most.

My 'I Ching" is the only other of my books that fell apart from use. Now lovingly repaired.
