Anne (reachannereach) Nice list Sheena. A lot of people, including myself, have Cry the Beloved Country on their lists. I'm thinking another group read? Anyone up for that? And speaking of group reads, Sheena, do you know that we have one planned for A Fine Balance?

Kristen Nice!!

Chrissie The Bielski Brothers: The True Story of Three Men Who Defied the Nazis, Built a Village in the Forest, and Saved 1,200 Jews is good and The Royal Physician's Visit too. The latter is trcky. Some people enjoy the prose style, others don't. I think it so well described the Enlightenment period and the osychological trauma of Christian. I am currently reading another book (Massie's "Catherine the Great")taking place during the Enlightenment. The similarity to how some of the unfavored royalty are treated is striking. Being king or queen - no thank you! I liked the book very, very much. I wonder what you will think. Again, it is the style of writing that will either infuriate you or attract you.

Sonya Leonard I would be in for a group read on Cry the Beloved Country. It's on my list as well.

Anyway, I've added your selections to the master list. Are you certain about the Hedgehog book for Morocco? I remember it being set in Paris....

Hi Sheena! Nice start on your list. There is also a group read set for [Book: The Poisonwood Bible], so be sure to look into that.
