Shannon (shananigansreads) | 355 comments I was just wondering if anyone is using the goodreadd recommendations feature? I browse through it often and have found lots of little goodies and extras for series I love and a few new books I want to give a try.

RB (rblindberg) Yup! My "wish-list" is out of control ;)

Ellen (elliearcher) I've checked it out a few times but it just adds to my list.

I need an "unrecommend" feature to help trim my list. You know, "you must take this book off your list" button.

I just tried to trim my list (it's back over 800 again with a "interested in" shelf of over 1000) but got too overwhelmed. I might have to go nap.

A (avocadoshake) | 10 comments Hmmmm I seem to be in the minority here, since I don't actually use the GoodReads recommendations feature. I have used it a few times, but eventually stopped. What I tend to do is either randomly buy books which look appealing, or randomly browse through the library until something catches my eye. The problem with both is that I can end up with a book that I'd be bored of, but being random in picking books to read does offer the advantage of broadening the genres that I read. In this sense, perhaps my randomness may be the reason why the recommendations feature isn't too much to my liking?

Chris I have no need for GR Recommendations feature. Amazon has me figured out to a T so I can get plenty of recommendations from it. My Amazon wishlist is already several hundred books deep so I don't need any more recommendations from any source lol
