Started to read a whole post-apocalypse novel,
(Surviving The Evacuation(London. Just finished the first book, and continuing with the second one. Its a good series if you like story telling from journal.

Finished reading "The Hen Who Dreamed She Could Fly". Loved the simple story of sacrifice, love and the cycle of life.

I am currently onto F. Paul Wilson's Repairman Jack series. But I still carry the story of Paul Auster's "4 3 2 1" with me. What an epic read, thought provoking, disturbing and a story (make that 4 stories!) very well told.

Just finished Teresa Driscoll's 'I Am Watching You' two nights ago. Classic mystery thriller, but her eclectic writing style makes her book engrossing.

Mystery thrillers tend to be formulaic; once you read enough of it, you can kinda see where the plot is going right from the beginning. Curious to know which thriller can break this mold.

Read Book 1 of Sevenwaters Trilogy by Juliet Marillier and reading Book 2: Son of Shadows currently. Good series but I feel like smacking some of the characters at times.

I'm reading The Girl who Saved the King of Sweden by Jonas Jonasson. It's rather funny, but the writing style doesn't really suit me as it strays from description.

Read - Adaptation by Mack Reynolds, using the SerialReader iOS. Loved the setting and the twist in the end. Went on to Project Gutenberg to search for more works by Mack Reynolds. Worth exploring for Science Fiction and/or Space buffs.

'The Invention of Wings' by Sue Monk Kidd.

Wow. I don't even remember why I decided to put this into my to-read list, but I'm glad I did. This one grows on me, and demands patience for its characters to develop. Written in the same spirit as Kristin Hannah's 'The Nightingale', but without the romance tropes. This one's a pleasant surprise.

Currently reading 21 Lessons for the 21st Century by Yuval Noah Harari! It is causally daunting yet gives a glimpse of a hopeful future, in a world which is pretty much convinced that it is coming to an end :)

Just finished 'A River in Darkness: One Man's Escape from North Korea' by Masaji Ishikawa.

It's just heartbreaking to read. Utterly depressing. And forget happy endings; there's none of it here. Brilliant but incredibly morbid at the same time.

Ahh I'm currently reading "The Burning Maze" from the Trials of Apollo series!!

It's so good; I love Rick Riordan's writing style, and the humour that he added into the book makes one's reading journey less stern and much much enjoyable!

I definitely will recommend it to everyone!

Currently reading "Unspoken Words For Him" by Odis Burt!

It is a true story written about a relationship with this lady with unspoken words for him and she kept it for more than a decade! To be exact, 15 years!

I am touched by her sharing and hence decided to make it into a story.

Teared while reading/writing this story because it is a real-life true love story.

Just finished reading ‘The Perfect World of Miwako Sumida’. This is very good and i strongly recommend those who are keen to pick up this book. This is Clarissa’s second novel, her first novel ‘Rainbirds’ is equally well written. I’m looking forward to her future publication.

For those who love Japanese novel especially like Murakami’s novel, you will definitely love Clarissa’s book too.

An alluring start, beautifully written and left me easily lost in hours during each sitting. I would urge you guys to add this to your to-read list!

Greenwich Park by Katherine Faulkner

Raced through 443 pages of this suspenseful thriller/mystery in 3 hours and finished it in one sitting because the writing was mostly so good! There were little twists and turns in this page turner and a whole slew of mysterious, unfortunate characters.

A great read for those who love a strong and engaging thriller novel, one of the better thrillers I’ve read in my life, it was hard to put this one down. What put me off was the racial microagressions in its description of Chinese and Indian food: “slimy noodles, rice stained with orange, strange Chinese food” and how the character felt ill from smelling and looking at Indian food - “creamy sauces, lurid colours of chutneys”, the food was “stained red”, how “the smell of garlic and onion was too much.” POC abroad often experience this thing where non-POC criticise and alienate their cuisine for looks and smell, so I found this part offensive and icky. Being a journalist, word choice is very intentional, and to me it felt like casual racism. There was lack of diversity too with no POC characters. The author also used to be a head news journalist at The Times which recently published an article with this line: “offending people with gaffes about slitty eyes, even if secretly we rather enjoyed them.” Subtle racism must be called out. It’s been very long that Asian people are treated as less than human so let’s #stopAsianhate

Just started "Beyond Black" by Hillary Mantel. Just finished "Mesopotamia" by Arthur Nersesian.

I'm currently reading 'The Silence of Bones' by June Hur. Only about 115 pages in so I can't say much. But I do love the writing style and characts. I am definitely intrigued to find out more about the storyline.

Love reading Tara Zenyora and the Seven-Jeweled Lighthouse by Samantha B. Adra. It's such a unique fantasy romance story that is hilariously peppered with Singapore's food culture. Love it!

Just finished "Mother of Learning: ARC 1". Not a bad fantasy wizard harry potter style story with a darker take. Wonder this place is still alive?

Currently reading Must Love Books in honour of black history month!

But I'm finding it hard to get into the book.

Just finished Open Water by Caleb Azumah - an exquisite novella on Black community in London.

I'm currently reading Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir and Violeta (a Spanish translation) by Isabel Allende.

Just read The Translator by Nina Schuyler - its about a polyglot of a middle-aged translator that accidentally lost her ability to speak her native English language and have to wander around Japan to find out how exactly did she botched a major translation job even when she was so confident it was her finest job.

Just finished The Maid by Nita Prose. It is a Nice mystery novel. I really enjoyed it a lot !

Love fantasy novels.

Picked up Joe Abrecombie's first law series & and also the age of madness trilogy. his writing is simply amazing.

the right amount of violence & humor and a wonderful world building!
