Janice (jamasc) | 59916 comments No, the threads aren't deleted. You'll find the comments for The Drawing of the Three under The Dark Tower Series.

We decided not to do separate threads for this series but to continue the thread as we started new books.

ETA: The discussion for The Drawing of the Three starts about message 47.

Saumitra (saumitra1) | 30 comments was wondering if anyone would be interested in the Dune series?

message 203: by Casceil (new)

Casceil | 2728 comments One of the Kindle daily deals today, at least in the US, is Girls Like Us: Carole King, Joni Mitchell, Carly Simon - and the Journey of a Generation for $2.99. Would anyone be interested in buddy reading it with me?

Who's the author? I wouldn't mind reading a new author and series. Message me with the author name and I will start with you.

message 206: by Saumitra (new)

Saumitra (saumitra1) | 30 comments Hi Tru, Dune series is but Frank Herbert. finished the first book in the last couple of days as i am traveling and the flight was pretty long! Will set up a thread.

message 207: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments Some of us have been discussing reading The Song of Achilles. I thought I'd post here to see who is interested and when we can read it so we don't clog the nomination thread up (especially as we can't use it for the theme). So who's in?

message 208: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments I would love to do a buddy read :)

I'm in.

message 210: by Casceil (new)

Casceil | 2728 comments I'm interested in the buddy read for Song of Achilles, but the timing might make a difference in whether I participate. Lately I seem to have to be in the right mood for a book.

message 211: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments OK cool. So when do people want to start it? I'm flexible.

message 212: by Ariane (new)

Ariane | 947 comments I would love to read it with you, I am quite flexible on the timing too.

message 213: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments Yes, I will join the buddy read for Achilles. I can't remember why I did not read it with the group before. I was probably obsessed with something else. Any time is good for me. I have to locate a copy.

message 214: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments Any time is fine for me too. Maybe someone with a less flexible reading schedule can suggest a date?

message 215: by Bella (new)

Bella | 502 comments The Song of Achilles is on sale at B&N and Amazon for 99 cents.

Oh, thank you, Bella! I just jumped over and got a copy for my Nook. I am ready when everyone else is. :)

message 217: by Amanda (Mandy) (new)

Amanda (Mandy) | 762 comments I will join as well. I am good anytime, but my kids start back to school on the 7th so I will have more time after that.

message 218: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments I was going to say the 3rd but 7th works too - I was trying to keep it as far away from the toppled as possible.

message 219: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments Are we talking August or September? I thought August but kids here don't go back to school until 1st of September (not sure if Amanda's start 7th of august or also september), so just want to make sure I start reading in the right month ;-)

message 220: by Tasha (new)

Tasha I won't be joining in since I've already read it. I loved it, enjoy!

message 221: by Lilisa (new)

Lilisa | 2770 comments Any time in August would work great - I'm all for starting the early part of August if that's works for everyone - no preference on start date.

message 222: by Amanda (Mandy) (new)

Amanda (Mandy) | 762 comments My kids start in August. I am fine with earlier if y'all want to. It was just a suggestion.

message 223: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59916 comments If you want to set up a thread, I can add it to the calendar.

message 224: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments August! I'll set up a thread later.

message 225: by Ariane (new)

Ariane | 947 comments ok, I have my book, I am ready!

message 226: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments Thread set up.

message 227: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59916 comments Calendar updated. :)

message 228: by Bella (new)

Bella | 502 comments Anyone want to do a buddy read of one of the books that made the Booker Prize Longlist?

It can't be Did You Ever Have A Family by Bill Clegg- at least for me- because its release date says September 15, 2015. Sleeping on Jupiter by Anuradha Roy is also something I can't do- no ebook available in the US.

I'm kind of partial to A Brief History of Seven Killings by Marlon James or A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara. A start date late August- after the 20/21- would work best for me.

message 229: by Canadian Dragon (new)

Canadian Dragon | 1020 comments Thinking of doing a buddy read for Armada

message 230: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments I'll join you Tasha for Armada. I really enjoyed the one we did for Ready Player One.

message 231: by Travis (new)

Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments I may hop in on Armada... Good chance

message 232: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie Oohhh I want to read that one too. I'll see if it is available at the library :)

message 233: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59916 comments Armada is on my wishlist. I'm tempted to join you.

message 234: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments I would have to wait until after the toppler though, maybe towards the end of the month. Would that suit?

message 235: by Canadian Dragon (new)

Canadian Dragon | 1020 comments @Sarah I was thinking the same thing towards the end of the month after toppler

message 236: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments Cool. I'll set up a thread for it and we can then set a date over there.

message 237: by Mariab (new)

Mariab | 3059 comments Yay!!! (I adored Ready Player One)

message 238: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments I know it's still a long way off, but I wondered if anyone fancied buddy reading The Passage with me in October. I've had it on my book shelf for ages and it's a dead tree book so I need to read it and get it off my boat. I also wanted to read something scary/horror/thriller type because of halloween. This book is chunky so I thought doing it as a buddy read was a good idea.

message 239: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie I may join in on that one too, Sarah :) sounds like a good book!

message 240: by Canadian Dragon (new)

Canadian Dragon | 1020 comments Count me in too that sounds like a good book

message 241: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments Cool. I'll wait until a bit nearer the time before setting up a thread for The Passage. Hopefully a few more people will know where they are at then too and want to join in.

message 242: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19160 comments I really liked The Passage. Hope you buddy readers enjoy it. The audio for it is done very well too, if anyone is interested in it.

message 243: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19206 comments I'm interested and have a copy. Not sure if I will have time or not, but register my interest and I will have another look when we get closer.

message 244: by Ariane (new)

Ariane | 947 comments I just added it to my TBR, so I'm interested as well, maybe the audiobook.

message 245: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments Coolio.

OH! I saw that, noted that it was locked, noted that is was last updated in 2013 and noted that it says that it is the "LINE-UP FOR 2014".

Didn't read past that to see that Running Blind was listed there.

It get it now. Thanks.

message 249: by Janice, Moderator (last edited Sep 09, 2015 08:21PM) (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59916 comments It's locked to comments, but I do keep it updated. Or I try to. I fixed the "2014" thingy.
