Snail in Danger (Sid) Nicolaides (upsight) | 106 comments Okay. It's fairly common (or at least not unknown, in the genres I read) for European and Japanese publishers to split a single volume work into a two volume translation.

So I was wondering — would it be okay to create, say, an Honor Harrington (French) series listing to go with the English one? Or is it preferred to add them as non-primary works, as has been done with the Vorkosigan Saga?

I suppose that on such a hypothetical French language series, the English listing would still appear for works that haven't been published as split versions, as the most popular one ... but I still think that a list of foreign language versions could be useful in cases where the author doesn't provide a listing on his own web site. (As is the case with the Honor Harrington series.)

I think this is the more common method, as it links all the various language editions in one series.
