What do you think of Hunger Games? Are you excited for the movie?

LOVE LOVE LOVE the whole Trilogy. I've already read them about 5 times (which is a real accomplishment when you're a History Major)

I can't wait for the movie. I've got a countdown going!

Trying not to make a spoiler here, but I kinda wish she would have ended up with the other guy or that he would have found someone in another district.

Love the series, though I felt Mockingjay was given a rush job towards the end. Looking foward to seeing the movie.

I finished the books super fast! Could not put it down!

Loved the first 2. Hated the 3rd. Like hated, not too excited for the movie cuz I don't really like the actors.....but it seems like I'm the only one with that opinion

i agree. but that one part toward the end was awesome.

Anything is better than the casting for TWILIGHT!

I'm getting used to the picks for the characters. Bummed about the choice for Gale. I pictured him looking hot, quite frankly, and the actor picked is not (imho).

Still to start reading the books. :D

Is the hunger games young adult, what age would one recommend this for? I was disturbed by it and I have read brave new world, lord of the flies,etc and I am well on the down hill to retirement.

Yeah, it is considered YA. As for age, I would say 13-15 as a starting point, but then it would depend on the individual kid. Some may be able to handle the subject matter sooner or better than another kid would.

I think what was so disturbing was how the kids in the series were so exploited by their government. My kids have read it, they are 13 & 14. They loved it. We have had lots of conversations about society, government, etc. since we have all read it. IMO, its a great satire of what our world could be like if we are not careful...

LOVED THESE BOOKS AND CAN'T WAIT FOR THE MOVIE! My kids are very excited, too!

I just started reading the first one. I'm five chapters in and I can honestly say I'm hooked but apprehensive. My friends want to drag me to the film and I'm adamant about reading the books before I go. I really like the five chapters I've read so far. However I'm verging on despising the first person narrative at times, but that's probably because I've been reading historical non-fiction books in large for around two weeks or books in third person so the view point is hard to switch sometimes.
This may be the only detering point for me the first person narrative because it gives away the essence of the plot before it's even begun, but I feel it will be useful for further into the book!

Going to see the Hunger Games next Sunday for my 20th Birthday! I loved loved loved the book and cannot wait to see the movie!!!!

I have not read the entire series f The Hunger Games, just book one and about 50+ pages of the second book, I'm not SUPER excited to see the movie, I will see it when it comes out on DVD.

Just started yesterday, I am going to see the movie the 24th, you think I'll make it, hope I will (;

Read the first one now and I've started on the second. I cannot wait for the film and I'm going Sunday morning! It's thrilling!

Here in Italy the movie release will be on first May! *Sigh*

Im making my friends go with my the 1st day it comes out because i want to see it soo much! haha

i LOVE the books, i've been making all of my friends read the books. (I even gave my best-friend my own personal copy of the book :O)

I was so obsessed with it, I wouldnt shut up about the book before the movie came out !!! I am so going to buy the movie and probably watch it over and over again !!! I loved the movie !!

not as good to me as i thought with all the hype but still liked them alot! def on the re-read list!
