Reading Flat-Out Sexy by Erin McCarthy and I am not feeling impressed. I don't know what I'll start next :D

Theresa Romain | 420 comments I've been reading lots of nonfiction lately. The most relevant to us historical romance-lovers is Charles Dickens: A Life, which I just started. The author previously wrote a bio of Jane Austen, which I really enjoyed. I've also got Shana Galen's Lord and Lady Spy on my nightstand for a change of pace!

Yesterday I read, In Bed with a Highlander by Maya Banks so today I'm going to start the second in the series, Seduction of a Highland Lass! LOOOOVE me those HIGHLANDERS!

I am still working on Every Scandalous Secret by Gayle Callen. I really like it, I just didn't have much time to read over the holiday weekend.

I'm reading Storm Born by Richelle Mead

Cindy (cindyw35) | 128 comments I'm still reading Viscount Breckenridge to the Rescue by Stephanie Laurens. It started out well enough, but it's starting to drag. I'm at the midway point, and I'm not really feeling the sparks.

Well, I've finished my own book so I am free to read whatever I want. Unfortunately now I'm paralyzed by having too many choices!

Yay, Manda!

Elyssa, I LOVE Maya Banks! I'm pretty sure these Highlanders are the only historicals I've read of hers. I'm now on the third (and last) in the series. I think it's going to be the best one out of the three. I "liked" the first one, REALLY LIKED the second one, but I think I'm going to LOVE this one!

Theresa Romain | 420 comments Congrats, Manda! WOOT! Being able to hit the TBR without guilt is a lovely feeling. :)

I'm reading Vanessa Kelly's debut, Mastering the Marquess. Lots of fun. I've read her books all out of order, but it hasn't made me enjoy them less.

Thanks, guys! It's a relief to have it done, but now comes the hard part--waiting to hear what my editor has to say about it. Fingers crossed.

Since I was in such a weird mood I picked up a romantic suspense I got while I was in Atlanta for Moonlight and Magnolias: Midnight Fear by Leslie Tentler. It's pretty good so far.

So, have yall heard about this stand-alone self-pubbed book that Roxanne St. Claire just released? It's called Space In His Heart and the hero is an astronaut. Sounds like fun. I've got it on the TBR.

Ok, you know I'll add it to my TBR pile as well! I'm obsessed with Roxanne St. Claire!

I started If You Give A Girl A Viscount by Kieran Kramer yesterday. It's okay so far, but it isn't my favorite of her books so far.

Yay on being done Manda!

Yay Manda!
I've been recuperating from shoulder surgery (no fun at all) and reading Karen Templeton. I really liked Welcome Home Cowboy. I've been going thru here backlist which is mixed but some were also very good.
I have to say having an e reader is great for when you are sick. I can't drive for 6 weeks but this way I can still get books ti read whenever I want them. One more reason....

Wishing you a SPEEDY recovery, DLS! Hugs!

Thanks Manda! I am in a sling for six weeks which explains why I have even more typos than usual--all one handed on my phone. (if anyone else needs rotator cuff surgery feel free to pm me for info).

Just read Carla Kelly's Coming Home For Christmas. I liked the middle story best . She's one of the best at capturing the feel of time and place and I love that she writes about ordinary people. Her early books have this wonderful connection between her characters and the middle story catches
that too.

Now reading Shalvis Head over Heels.

Yikes,DLS--shoulder surgery does not sound fun. Glad you've got your trusty e-reader and plenty in the TBR pile to keep you busy. Feel better soon.

Pj Ausdenmore (pjpuppymom) | 100 comments Dls, hope your recovery from shoulder surgery is going smoothly!

I've been working crazy hours lately and am in serious book withdrawal. My tbr is threatening to take over the house! lol!

I have had the opportunity to read an ARC of Eloisa's THE DUKE IS MINE and I think it's one of the best books she's ever written. These characters really touched my heart. ♥

You know I'll be reading SPACE IN HIS HEART, Manda. If Rocki writes it, I read it! :)

Thanks Irisheyes, PJ, Manda and Monica. Reading is the only thon saving me from going nuts, I have to say.

Just read the New EJ novella. Very fun. It did get me thinking...romance novellas often cover a very short period of time. I would have liked to seen a slightly longer courtship-- they don't seem to have gotten to know eachother and the first engagement doesn't count. Are there good novellas that cover more chronological time? I can think of novellas that work in a short time--for example Courtney Milans first novella where the couple already know eachother and this is a turning point. I can't remember how much time her second novella covers but it too works for much the same reason. But first meeting-to-love in days dont usually work for me.

I missed this thread because I was on deadline then. I just learned about your surgery, Deb. I hope recovery is going well. I'm sending you belated wishes for a quick return to full strength.

Thanks Janga! It's going well, just really slowly. I should be out of my sling in a week and hope to be able to sleep lying down in a week or two.
