Ann Aguirre Hi, readers.

Feel free to leave questions for me here. I'll answer if it doesn't involve spoilers.

Lisa What are you reading these days? Anything good?

Ann Aguirre Right now, I'm reading a book that haven't come out yet, but yes, it's very good. It's called COVETED by Shawntelle Madison.

Elizabeth What was the hardest part of Enclave to write?

Jennifer Dupriest How did you come up with the idea of Enclave?

message 6: by Ann (new)

Ann Aguirre Elizabeth, fight scenes are hard to write. You need them to be fast, exciting and punchy without getting repetitive. So that was pretty hard.

Jenny, the idea came to me while I was talking to my agent, coalesced over months of contemplation.

Jessica Reigle Where did the idea of picking names come from? I read that and thought it was genius! I mean, could imagine? I was almost tempted to try it myself, to see what crazy name I could get :P

How did you know where to start, once you had the idea?
Whenever i try to write, I have good ideas, but really don't know how to start.

message 9: by Ann (new)

Ann Aguirre Jessica, I've thought about putting together an online name generator, by adding a bunch of common objects to the database, and then a random generator would do it for you. As for how, it just came to me.

I always start at the beginning, Sam. :)

message 10: by Gwen (new) - rated it 5 stars

Gwen Do you usually do plot outlines?

message 11: by Ann (new)

Ann Aguirre I have a starting point and an ending point. Often I know a number of plot points along the way, as well. But I don't outline.

message 12: by Lucy (new) - rated it 4 stars

Lucy Rowland Deuce is so strong and a great role model but you still get the feeling that she's a real girl with teenage issues, which seems hard to come by in heroines these days. Did you find writing the balance difficult?

message 13: by Ann (new)

Ann Aguirre TBH I didn't consider any of that. I was just telling her story. She feels like a real person to me, so I suspect that's why she feels authentic to readers.

message 14: by Lorn (new) - added it

Lorn How long did it take you to write the first draft of Enclave? Thanks :)

message 15: by Alexa (new)

Alexa E. Hi!! Loved the book!! I was just kinda confused with the ending. Does Fade or does Fade not like "like" her in the end? Form my perspective it looked like they were distancing themselves, but I don't know for sure.

Vixen What was your favorite part of Enclave to write?

Personally I enjoyed the part that was sort of at the beginning when Fade and Deuce had to make the journey through the tunnels to see if the freaks took over where the blind boy
had came from with warning. When they were ambushed and Deuce had Fade's back. :)

I found the writing in your book to be stunning, invoking such a real element. There are parts that I swear I can feel the characters exhaustion, smell the freaks, and feel the slimy stone of the Enclave. Do you use any visual aids when writing?
