Harry Potter discussion

So my friend and I got into a very heated debate yesterday regarding 'whether everyone in the Wizarding World knows that Dumbledore is gay?!'(I have no idea where this topic emerged from). Anyways, Rowling told us that he was, but it wasn't mentioned anywhere in the book. I think they knew though, because there's no way Reeta Skeeter didn't know, and if she did, nothing would stop her from telling the entire (Wizarding) world the same. However, she(my friend) doesn't seem to be convinced by that.... So.... opinions?

No they don't, I can't see how Skeeter would get such info in the first place, Grindledore seem to have spent most of their out of the house or locked in their when they were together therefore I doubt Bathilda would have noticed. Aberforth seems like he could have known but he doesn't seem to like Skeeter so he wouldn't have told her. Anyways if Skeeter had known such information she would not hold on to it. That would have too juicy and Ron seems to have read the book so even though Harry never read it fully. I should think Ron would have told him.

But Skeeter even got hold of all those letters Dumbledore and Grindelwald wrote to each other, wouldn't that hint at it?

Not really, according to Rowling, it was unrequited love so I doubt Dumbledore ever confessed about it; especially if you take into account they period they lived in (Homosexuality was thought to be a mental disorder in the Muggle world and am inclined to believe the Wizarding world wasn't so different seeing as they're really behind the times currently).

Oh.... Dumbledore didn't , huh?! I know about the time period thing, I guess they didn't then... I just thought that Harry had accepted Dumbledore completely with all his flaws and all.... So there was something he didn't know in the end....

Probably some wizards were wondering about it, but nobody ever mentioned it.

then again, maybe the wizarding world just dont care whether he's gay or not. he gave too much contribution to the wizarding world...
